I'm unpacking boxes and finding Spode blue & white vases; blue pottery, etc. I need to take an inventory of what I have, and have forgotten about, in this very long move. Things have been boxed up since May and June of last year.

Still thinking about your bath/closet situation. Given that you're not bath people and there is a bathtub in the hall bathroom, it would free up quite a bit of space in your Master bath if there wasn't a tub. Unrelated to the MB area: if the seating area was moved towards the front of the house, then that space could be used as a small entrance foyer - including a coat closet. You could have i.e. higher windows around the fireplace to provide some privacy along that wall (alternatively, many folks don't find TVs over fireplaces to be comfy - you could rotate the TV + furniture 90º so the section is facing the front of the house/TV)

Having just moved from the Nashville market, let me first forewarn you that getting a quality contractor for a small job is going to be a waitlist of MONTHS and will cost you a premium. Second, I'd estimate $12-15K for the bathroom considering what we spent on ours. Our tiled shower was about $6K (tile, waterproofing materials, glass door, and labor). Make sure the contractor uses a highly rated waterproofing system like Schluter which really isn't cheap. ProSource on Sidco is a good place to look at tile as my SIL picked all hers out from there. If you have a contractor, Ferguson's contractor pricing is really good compared to retail. Make sure you've seen a job that the tile guy has done BEFORE hiring him. BTDT = lesson learned. As for counters and sink, depending on the size, you might can order stock from Home Depot or Lowe's or you may have to go custom. If custom, again, expect a wait. For tops, there are several fabricators in the area. I know of one to stay away, though, as both my MIL and I had terrible experiences with them :/ Lewis Glass in Franklin did our shower door and mirror and we had a great experience with them. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I see...thank you Mark. I do like that idea. I had a friend who dabbles in design and remodels a lot come by tonight and she had another thought...shorten the shower pan by 12" to accommodate more tub space, add a wall of glass from the outside wall (your long "L") and leave open (or put in a door) on the side of your short "L" . She favors the freestanding tub for the looks. I'm not sure what to think. Unfortunately I am late with my concerns. The framing was last week and the trusses will be finished up tomorrow. I asked these questions of our PM 3 days ago and will be meeting again on site Tuesday with the PM and site supervisor. I can ask that these can be brought up with the designer too.
