Which counter stools to coordinate with dining room?

Hi everyone! We just built a house with an open floor plan, and are having trouble figuring out which counter stools will coordinate with our dining room table and chairs. We have the benchwright dining table from pottery barn in rustic mahogany, with the matching Aaron dining chairs(links below). Our kitchen has white cabinets, white backsplash, and white with grey veining quartz countertops. I really like the look of the serena and Lily woven counter stools, or a stool in an antique gray (more of the French country look), but i don’t think either will look right with the rustic mahogany table and chairs. Any suggestions on how to get a similar look with a stool that will match better, or suggestions for stools that will look nice with our table? Thanks!

With your spaces being that close together i would coordinate with some elements. I would look for a cross backed stool.

Why not something in a metal with some color the kitchen stools do not have to coordinate with the DR IMO. I do not think either of those works with what you have. The rattan does not even look comfortable and the other is too formal I think.I have no idea about what your kitchen looks like but I like some color for stools or the same metal stool with a wood seat maybe.

Without seeing pictures it’s hard to recommend something specific. I prefer upholstered stools , either in fabric or leather. Much more comfortable. Tons available. Pottery Barn has many that would coordinate with your dining furniture.

I think they'd go well together, but I agree with busybee, I'd be inclined to look for a solid wood stool, like the one linked below. Ballard Designs has some great stools. If you get the rush ones, I think cushions on either the chairs or the stools would make them look different from each other. I know I told you on your previous thread, but I love those chairs. Thanks Jan you the island is another example of a Husband who is very traditional and me a downtown loft dweller who would have gone with painted cabinets in a navy or grey and waterfall Calcutta island. (Dreams) I will mention your idea on wrapping the legs see if I can get some traction.

Thanks Jen! icy avalanche in our house comes off as a very light gray; i would never call these beige. Pic numbers 3 & 4 are a good representation of the color. You can see the grey tone against the white electrical outlet on the island. we have the serena & lilly carson counter stools in white and have gotten many compliments on how well they compliment the grey cabinets. i’d think the white appliances will look lovely! good luck! would love to know what you eventually decide.

Our kitchen will be open concept too. Ours is more modern in style than yours but we too struggled to think what would look good. In the end we found, these great stools, from CB2 that meet our criteria and will blend in to or island more. https://www.cb2.com/vapor-acrylic-bar-stools/f4967

I like the metal idea. Oh that's because I did the same thing! Open concept as well. I have dark grey leather dining room chairs and I went with a gunmetal stool base with wood top. Basically the same thing Patricia posted but I got backless. I love it! Lightweight so it's easy to move around and it just blends in.

Btw swivel stools are so much easier to use and saves flooring too.

We purposefully chose fixed and not swivel because we have three kids and I didn't want them spinning on the chairs.
