Dual Smart Switch in 4 gang box

I have a 4 gang box by the front door. There are 5 switches for the box. 3 single switches for various interior lights and we are going to put a dual switch on one for the front porch and outdoor garage floodlight. I would like the dual switch to be a smart switch so I can put the outside lights on timers, remote control, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation for a dual smart switch that will fit into a standard 4 gang box next to other switches? I have a few smart plugs but haven't committed to one brand/app yet.

Do you mean a dual switch which fits into a single spot, or one which uses two (of the 5)?

Dual switch that fits into a single spot. Many that I saw that looked to be made to fit into a 1 gang box since they were wider and took up more space. I am looking to get something that can run in a box with other switches next to it.

thanks mongo. i know, delayed response, but i'm just now getting back to this :) i think i'm going to use the Lutron light dimmer & fan timer combo just outside my shower, & this will also free up my 4-gangs by the door. i looked at the X10 stuff, but it's too confusing to me! i just want to turn on a fan for a while - not light up my garage and cook some toast at the same time! :) maybe one day... i'm sure they're nice in a larger home. thanks, lisa

Depending on the age and type of box you may be able to attach another device box to it. The old box needs to be an expandable type with screws holding the sides on. The dimensions for the screw placements have moved around over the years, so it could be hard to find a compatible box to attach. You will need to make a larger opening and do some wall repair to get the new gang in and attached. I would remove the old box and move the cables into a replacement 3-gang old work box. If done very carefully the hole in the wall for the new box will be the correct size and no wall repair will be required.

" It will take a new box & wall patching. Not very difficult though. You can get wireless kits to control fan speed and lighting. For hard wired control you need extra wires from the switch to the fan. How easy it is to change from multiple light switches to a single switch depends on how it is wired. If power comes to the switch box and is than split there it is very easy. If there are separate switch loops (possible, but unlikely) it likely would be a little more difficult (and might involve running some new cables).

Registered today. I am not convinced that the question is serious. "I'm in the process--" The simple step of removing the wall plate will reveal that the switches are all single gang switches mounted in multi-gang boxes. Despard devices are not rocker style. You do know about Google?

The Lutron you linked to would work, it can get a little cozy with multiple dimmers in a box, but with just regular switches you'll be just fine.

I am having trouble finding a 2 gang smart switch. The one sample I posted is just a top on and bottom off switch. Looking for a smart switch that controls two separate lights. I found this one so far but not sure it will fit.
