Really need others opinion exterior colors-
Built in 1974, off white brick which better half does not want to paint or stain. Had a fire last year that required a new front door and I love turquoise and MCM design/style. Ordered this door that has paint baked on and it is my pop of color. Im doing every in reverse order, I know. We have added this teak wood accents, and new windows which have bright white trim. So what goes with off white, orangish wood, and turquoise??!! There is much more siding on the back where we have an addition.

Comments (15)My .02 cents is that to get a look like your inspiration pic you need a stone with more variation and some lighter tones than I'm seeing in the first two\ examples you posted. The last example you posted (Chambord Grey/ Eaton Accent stone) looks like it could work. As far as the darkness of the siding itself, I think you have enough trim and stonework, as well as the porch, to break up the dark siding so it won't be overwhelming ,at least on the front elevation. I think the question of if it is too dark might depend on where you live. If you live somewhere that is dreary with many overcast days, it might seem darker and gloomy. If you live somewhere sunny and bright, I think the darkness of the siding is less of an issue. Comments (8)What a tough thing to do-- choosing everything before you have begun. First, I really like everything that you have chosen. They all are very pretty in their own right. In fact, I think that Tony Taupe is a particularly pretty exterior color. That being said, I wonder if the Tony Taupe doesn't have a lot more undertones of green, rather than the more red undertones of the stone. It is really hard to tell given the small samples and the variations on computer monitors, but that would be my only concern. Does your builder have a list of people who have that stone on their houses? If not, does the stone supplier have such a list. It may be a little crazy, but maybe you could paint some big posterboard (s) and put it next to the rock that has already been put up. Comments (42)I gave her the pic of the triple window with a transom, and without the existing window. "Hey if they can put in a new window, surely they can remove that one!" I also showed her the picture of the 2 windows with the artwork and console table, and also another one you didn't see very similar, but 2 pics over top of each other on each side of a mirror, over a console table. I could use some suggestions on cute ideas for the shutters. I thought about painting them green with some accent trim in cream/blue? Should I also paint the gutters etc? I'd also bring in a vertical plant of some sort to the right of your front window. maybe a bougainvillea. if you chose an orange to go w/the turquoise, i'd also bring in the planters in that color
re/orange, red, coral, all go well w/your color door and the wood.
so what is the actual question? what are you looking to paint the trim around the roofline? the garage door? charcoal, black medium gray..... grays go well w/all of those colors.
Actually, if you did this to your brick and did the black trim, would look great! don't forget the garage door
even w/yours now, something like this, or a wood one would look a bit better.
if you can't swing that, then paint yours.
bring some of the dark gray pebbles for your cement walkway. maybe some 'snake plant or horsetail plant"
love how they painted the cement porch in the dark charcoal gray. brought in a Sago Palm. (might be a nice addition in your yard if you live in a warmer area)
Look at the dark charcoal siding color on this house, this is the color for your trim, garage door and maybe your siding. (c below for further)
these fluffy grasses, some trees.
as for the siding we can't see, I'd keep it the same tone as the brick and continue w/the dark trim. Or, paint the siding that dark trim color (like Urbane Bronze) and do the trim in the same white as the brick.

5 years agoThank you all so much! Especially Beth’s, with all those pics sooo helpful! No this brick is not painted, but it does need a good cleaning! I have since added a cinder block planter in front where I have tried out several colors. I agree with a dark gray, but husband thinks it’s too dark, at least on the cinderblocks. I am really going for the MCM look and your pics are spot on. I WISH I could get glass garage doors but then my house would be too exp for this neighborhood!!!!! I am going to paint them, possibly to look like wood.

5 years agoI also need to paint the porch, like the dark gray. I just pulled 2 overgrown sego’s!! Here’s the garage windows, well one of them is done. When I paint the patio I was thinking of doing a pattern similar to this window pattern, which I just made up
