Exterior color, need your opinion...
Comments (3)Your house is pretty! (I remember all the virtuals in Home Dec). It does look a bit more earthy than neighbors, but hard to tell with shadows. (I'm looking at neighbor's above far right archway, where it's in the shade.) Oh wait, I just saw the part below the pictures. Yes, do that second coat!! It will absolutely give a more refined, finished, 'richer' look. Two finish coats, always!...See MoreNeed your opinions on my exterior color choices!
Comments (8)What a tough thing to do-- choosing everything before you have begun. First, I really like everything that you have chosen. They all are very pretty in their own right. In fact, I think that Tony Taupe is a particularly pretty exterior color. That being said, I wonder if the Tony Taupe doesn't have a lot more undertones of green, rather than the more red undertones of the stone. It is really hard to tell given the small samples and the variations on computer monitors, but that would be my only concern. Does your builder have a list of people who have that stone on their houses? If not, does the stone supplier have such a list. It may be a little crazy, but maybe you could paint some big posterboard (s) and put it next to the rock that has already been put up. I always think posterboards and quarts are worth it....See MoreNeed help with exterior choices.. Roof color and siding style..
Comments (4)My current home has clapboard-style vinyl siding. The neighbor has the Dutch lap. Over the years I have come to prefer the Dutch lap. I almost had mine replaced, and I would have done the foam reinforced Dutch lap. Straight vinyl clapboard has a tendency to wave. Especially over long expanses. In our neighborhood almost everyone got a new roof in 2008 after a bad hail storm. Those that chose black regret it. It is too stark. These are mostly traditional homes. Go with the charcoal instead....See MoreNeed opinions on exterior paint colors.
Comments (3)Here is my house and I would like to paint it the cream color that I used for trim on the outbuildings. I’ll do a blue door. We are going to make shutters and paint them. I could use some suggestions on cute ideas for the shutters. I thought about painting them green with some accent trim in cream/blue? Should I also paint the gutters etc? What about the vinyl where the roof peaks - any thoughts on that?...See MoreMGDawg
