Here's a picture of the Autumn Leaf Rough Cut sample. It seems to be more neutral in color and have less red tones.

I wouldn't be choosing a paint color until the stone was in place. so many things can be different from the sample you saw including thew ay the light plays off the stone at the orientation you have.
Get the stone up then stand back and see if it's still the same color you thought or if it appears more pink or yellow.
I had as urprise with some tile in a bath...I thought I was buying green-ey gray....surrise when it got down on the floor and I discovered all the purple tones.
Colors change a lot from a few pieces on a board to a lot up on the side of your house in the sun and in the shade.

I'm with Linda. I'd wait too. Thought I know you must be so excited and want to make choices early, some are better left until later. Congratulations on your new build. Have fun and make sure to ask lots of questions here. I know every time we built there was always something I wish we would have thought of.

Thank you Linda and justgotabme for your advice! I agree, it makes more sense to pick out paint colors after the stone is up, but unfortunately, with this builder, we have to make all of our selections before the build starts. That is probably why I'm stressing out about this! LOL!

I've looked at some of the other developments that they've built, but it seems like no one has used the same stone as us! Most of the other houses have Eldorado's Shilo Limestone, which has more orange and yellow understones. I think the Bridgeport Limestone will look more brown and tan so I'm hoping to find photos of houses that might have a similar color scheme. Any ideas on where to look?

What a tough thing to do-- choosing everything before you have begun. First, I really like everything that you have chosen. They all are very pretty in their own right. In fact, I think that Tony Taupe is a particularly pretty exterior color. That being said, I wonder if the Tony Taupe doesn't have a lot more undertones of green, rather than the more red undertones of the stone. It is really hard to tell given the small samples and the variations on computer monitors, but that would be my only concern.

Does your builder have a list of people who have that stone on their houses? If not, does the stone supplier have such a list. It may be a little crazy, but maybe you could paint some big posterboard (s) and put it next to the rock that has already been put up. I always think posterboards and quarts are worth it.

I like the stone you picked, though it does seem pretty neutral. The Autumn Leaf reads warmer, and might be fun with a rusty red door.

On your stone pick, I think the paint is fine, as you have cooler grey browns and warmer colors in the stone. I think the trim color will be pretty, and not glaring white.

What I am not sold on is the shutters - the brown feels very cool and flat, not warms and friendly. For sure I would do the door in a different color, and I would be inclined to think about a deep grey green for the shutters.

Thank you dcclerk and les917 for your suggestions! Haha, I don't think you're crazy dcclerk! I actually had the same thought to paint a posterboard and use that as a reference. If only they made those paint chips poster-size so that we wouldn't have to buy the paint.

I agree with you les917. The shutters do look a little cool and flat, and I'm starting to lean towards a more reddish brown called Federal Brown. I think that will look a little warmer. What do you think?

Beautiful home style that you are building.......the model is gorgeous . If you have someone that could do virtuals for you, that helps alot. I did that alot when I was building....all of our furniture except what we really had to have was in storage. I picked out flooring, tile, most everything after I had time to do a quick virtual on the computer. YOu can take pictures of your color stone & Paint selections & just copy & paste them over the house in the photo. Just keep duplicating the one picture of the stone sample until you cover the house. Then with paint, scan the sample & paint with your color. Good luck!
