Oh, I rather like this one! And it even looks a bit Christmassy. A bit more than I was thinking of spending, but I really do like it.

Have you seen lingerie drawers? I think that is what they are called. They are about 6 or 8 feet tall, with just one drawer at each level. In days of old, ladies had them for their unmentionables.

Well, eld6161, that would be the obvious solution, wouldn't it? I honestly did not think of that, LOL.

A Chinese medicine chest would be perfect. I have one, about 20" high, maybe 14 or 16" wide. Has 12 drawers.

Perhaps a foldable bookcase so it could be put away for later with boxes or small trays that would fit in the shelves. IKEA has some what I call foldable boxes that the last time I went to their store came in several sizes.

We don't have a good place to hang our stockings either, and pets have been a problem over the years for us as well :) Not to mention that our stockings generally end up too heavy to hang anyway!

We've always just loaded the stockings and propped them on the floor in front of a cabinet in the living room. It works, and doesn't look as bad as you might think- especially if they are near other decorations. For a short time we were hanging them on a curtain rod with heavy duty hooks, but they were hard to get down from our set up, so we do the floor thing.

i would do what eld6161 suggested. then u don't a.) spend $$ on a cab, b.) don't have a piece of furniture that u really don't need. c.) less clutter, if that's an issue.

make it easy on yourself and just stuff the night before or as goodies are bought.

why not just have the stockings all filled & ready and then just hang in the morning?

Yes, JoAnn, eld6161 suggested that as well. Instead, I had to come up with an elaborate plan and totally overlooked the obvious, LOL.

We quit doing actual stockings years ago. Now we use gift bags from Dollar Tree (Christmas themed, bought on clearance after Christmas, of course), and I fill them all year as I find little "stocking-worthy" items I think my very tiny family might like. For my daughter and son-in-law, I stock up on their favorite toothpastes, deodorants, toothbrush refills, floss, body wash, soap, tampons, q-tips, mouthwash... And I also grab new shower poufs, some candy, playing cards, a paper planner for the luddite daughter, etc. They stand up and stay open on their own, and I just leave them in an unused closet in my house until Christmas Eve.
