Sherwin Williams Shoji White - what ceiling color to use?

Anyone have any experience pairing Shoji White walls with a particular SW white for the ceiling? I do not want to paint the ceilings the same color and would like go brighter white on the ceilings without having any particular undertone. My painter suggests Alabaster, but I feel like it leans towards a yellow tone? Thanks much.

As a side note, I will be painting one of the bathrooms Sea Salt and a bedroom a lighter gray (TBD) at a later date. Does Alabaster clash with gray?

Hopefully Lori will chime in here. I was leaning toward Shoji also, but it looked just slightly peach in my space (in a way I didn’t love), when I tried samples in various areas. We have large windows, and are surrounded by trees, though, which makes a difference! I went back for White Duck, which is very similar, and think it’s going to work. That said, I did SW ceiling bright white, flat, on all ceilings. Then, Pure White, in semi gloss on trim and doors. Those both seemed to work fine when I was leaning Shoji, and now also with White Duck. I’m not a pro, so don’t listen to me without reading through some of the other threads here about Alabaster, color theory, etc., and without seeing how it looks in your space.

I think SW Pure White will go better with Shoji and with any other color I end up using in the future. This is a new build and I was only given one color for the walls (so I stayed neutral) and one color for the ceiling. I've only ever lived in a house with white popcorn ceilings, so I'm used to that crisp white ceiling.

These certainly aren’t good photos but show Devine White in a hallway contrasting against white trim and art. We selected the color as a companion to other SW colors on the same card and to lighten this space.

Thank you Patricia Colwell for seconding my choice. I really want that crisp white ceiling look, but without being stark, so I'm hoping Pure White is the right choice.

Hi what did you end up using on the ceilings and trims? I decided to paint my whole house in shoji white we did test in one room. I painted the walls, trims, doors and ceiling in Shoji white and it’s to much of the same.
I will be repeating the ceilings, and I’m considering pure white .

Hi! I used SW Pure White. I love the Shoji White throughout the house. It takes on a different hue at different times of day. Really great neutral!

I did not. The trim/doors were already in production when I found the new build. They are a dark brown. In a previous home, I used Benjamin Moore White Dove for the trim and doors and loved it!! I think the Pure White would look nice though.
