Wet Wallpaper applications - meant for shower
Comments (11)millworkman, yes, that is my only hesitation. I suppose someone has to be the guinea pig and try these things in real work applications. Was hoping to find at least one other 'real' person who had tried before though. I need to find the European equivalent of this forum I guess. chartist - wallpaper designer, that is very cool! They make claims that there is no problem using normal bathroom cleaning products on the finish, but as millwork says, will that still be the case five years from now? If you have a moment watch the video on installation - it takes a few days to complete it it looks like. Not technically difficult I don't think, but it takes time. Sophie - do you mean tile murals? I've been looking at some, but they can't compare. Plus I'd be happy to never deal with tile again (but I know I will)....See MoreSochi bathroom reveal: shower wallpaper + silestone shower pan
Comments (41)Hi Sochi and Kristin, gorgeous wallpaper projects! I am in correspondence with several Italian fiber glass wallpaper suppliers now and all of them have different waterproofing methods. The main issue I am finding is that the substrate needs to be white in color and smooth. Sochi mentioned the contractor used Schluter KERDI-BOARD but it is orange, so how did you eventually get it white? Krisitin what did your contractor do for substrate? What products were used to waterproof the wall before the application of the glue, wallpaper and sealants? My other concern is that the drywall or cement board (depending on what to use) has to sit on top of my shower pan so I fear it will absorb water is not properly waterproofed. Any guidelines and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Alex...See MoreMaison C. Wallpaper Defective
Comments (6)Are these fingerprints on the surface or something bleeding through from the back? Or maybe residue of wallpaper glue? If fingerprints, can you try an art gum eraser? Any chance, the prints were caused during installation? At least that would make them easier to remove. What type of paper is this? Could it be paste smudges that change the paper fiber? Comments (1)A very quick internet search showed me that Scott Living is a division of Brewster Wallcovering. The patterns are designed by T.V. personalities. I do't know what to call them. Anyhow the line is sold at Home Dept, Loews, and Sherwin Williams. You are not looking at upper end paper such as Schumacher, Manual Canovas, or Thibaut. Brewster is a nice quality company. (um Kohls vs Nordstroms?) They used to specialize in rustic patterns. The website also seemd to indicate that some Scott Living wallpaper is UNpasted. Personally--I adore this pattern....See Morebeckysharp Reinstate SW Unconditionally
