An ffo, some rebloom and clumps on Friday
Comments (18)Mantis and Julia - I think Skullduggery is only registered as having 15-16 buds. Mine, still in a pot, only has 6-8 buds per scape this year. I don't think I've ever had more than 15 buds per scape, and that was probably in the first year I had it. In the past, it's been a very reliable rebloomer. Being in a pot for several years, it has not multiplied very quickly. I have a lot - especially early bloomers - with very poor bud counts this year. We got NO rain to speak of in April, which is the opposite of what usually happens. I started watering my seedlings and the two beds by my seedling regularly in early May. The daylilies in those have much better bud counts than those I only watered a couple of times in May. Jean and Anika - Glitter Gal is a nice one. It is not diamond dusted. Where it glitters is the edge. It has a double edge - gold wire - that does glitter - and a fluffy white and gold edge with some tendrils and knobs. It can melt on a 95-degree day unless it's kept well-watered. It does fade somewhat, but still has a pleasant lavender color at the end of the day. It multiplies very quickly. Comments (14)Jane...WL is in it's 1st bloom season for me, and I'm not sure if it will always be this late. However, it was planted last fall and not in the spring, so maybe it will. I like the late ones, cause it extends my bloom season. :) You are going to love SM....it's always a beauty. Kay...thanks for the compliment...I just point and shoot!! lol Danielle....I agree, love those raindrops!! I'm sure glad ya'll are liking BC...cause she certainly has put on a show for me. Glad you also got some rain....we got over 2 inchs total. Juliet...Thanks for the compliment, and I'm glad you're enjoying my photos. :) Jean...I am lucky to have so much rebloom this year....thanks for the compliment, as I stated earlier, I just point and shoot...all the credit goes to my beautiful dl's!! Jessica...you don't do so bad in the photo dept. either, gal!! I love seeing yours and all the other peoples too. Comments (8)Wish I knew what they were thinkin' when they name these daylilies, Juicy Bubble Butt? I like the teeth, need to look up the hybridizers picture I guess, yours looks nice. Your Billy the Kid is starting off nicely, mine was ok the first bloom, but got better with each bloom. Maybe it needed warmer temps to really get the look, but I really like it. I don't know how it will do when it is established, but every flower looked different, which I liked. How great to have such a nice clump like Tiffany Shade blooming now....See MoreA couple of new ones and an FFO with a few re-bloomer
Comments (9)Julia, I usually have 3 1/2 or more months of blooms, but only two months of heavy bloom. I am still findind plants that have pu tjust put up rebloom scapes. . Late April to mid-September is the longest season, I remember having but I have actually have had a few blooms in October. September is generally hot here and we usually do not really have a freeze until November. If we get adequate rain, the rebloom scapes seem to increase. Kate has a long season too, and outs are just offset a bit since I am further south than she is. I am much less diligent at photo taking now as is usual. I miss some clumps, and occasionally a first bloom. It is just the weather. kay...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
