No, because I use Black Wireless, which has AT&T coverage. They offer all sorts of plans. I don't know if any of them have increased, but mine hasn't. I have the cheapest plan because I use my phone so little.

Verizon here. No increases. In fact, when DH retired, he took his phone in for something and the tech asked him how long since he'd had his plan looked over for improvements. No changes in service and they dropped the monthly fee by $15 so now $180 a year cheaper.

I have a separate plan with fewer minutes, he's the phone person, not me. And no price break at two phones on either of our plans, a price break doesn't come in unless a third phone added....we've had no reason then to be 'co-mingled', no third phone ;0)

Verizon family plan with eight users. No increases lately. I think the cost is reasonable. I've been with Verizon a long time and mostly because of the signal quality in California. It's been top rated for signal quality in my area for decades, back to and including the pre-digital early days of analog radio transmission.

chi, I took your suggestion and compared what I have to Google Fi. With the company discounts I get, the cost between the two is similar.

I pay $70 Canadian for my cell phone each month. I would switch carriers but have no idea who to switch with. I do know Rogers is 10000000% out for me. Too many horror stories. My son said he uses a different place, but the coverage outside of the city isn't good. I like all the bells and whistles on my phone otherwise I would just change my plan to a less expensive one. I've been with my provider for 18 years.

Google Fi, maybe down the road. Their coverage map shows mostly 2G at my home. I realize I’d be using my wi-fi then but I have really bad Internet. I did that with TMobile and couldn’t use the phone during a power outage or when the Internet was down.

I am on a very strict budget so I have the most basic plan with no bells and whistle. Have the phone in case of an emergency.

Elmer, that doesn't surprise me if you have 8 people on your plan. I think the more people you have, the more economical the pricing per person is.

I have Total Wireless, only uses Verizon towers, available from their website or Walmart. I have unlimited talk and text and 5 GB of data, $35/month, plus taxes, and a 3% discount on auto pay. Two lines get 15 GB for $57. You can bring your own CDMA phone or buy through them. I have an iPhone 6 plus that I got almost two years ago for $299. Love it. TW is owned by TracFone, just like Straight Talk.

chi, my Verizon plan is grandfathered (and no longer available). It's pretty reasonable - less than $30 per person, all in. All users are adults, we don't stream video or do large downloads over the data connection, and everyone saves the more data intensive stuff when possible for when connected to Wifi. Several use their phones to navigate when driving and there's still plenty that goes unused. We've never run over and if we did the added charge is pretty nominal.

I have a second mobile phone that I use for one specific purpose and I use Tracfone service. The 12 month package, with more minutes than I need for that phone, works out to $10/month. I've had to buy extra data a few times at $10 per GB and that adds a dollar or two to the monthly cost. It's pretty cheap.

Tracfone from QVC. Phone came with 1 year of service, 1500 minutes talk, 1500 texts, 1.5G data. Less than $100. Uses Verizon towers and I don't pay another penny until next year. Both HSN and QVC offer choices of phones and service.

I already pay for a landline and internet connection so cellphone is only for fun(daily texts and sharing pictures) or emergencies.

Been with Verizon for a number of years. DH has a small work discount we get and we pay 86 for 2 people. I haven’t seen an increase by more than .25 in long time and this month it’s down a whopping .12. In our area, the less expensive options don’t offer a service that is as reliable. Sprint won’t even work in our house even though the tower is relatively close to us. Most importantly though is that Verizon offers their Hot Spot service for free if your plan has 4 or more gigs of data tied to it. We don’t need unlimited, which is more expensive, so we have the 4 gigs that rolls over each month and I use the hot spot all the time.

Not my cell phone bill since I own my phone and do ATT monthly plan. Comes to 45.00 with all taxes and fees. But my landline just keeps going up and up. Now almost 40.00 month, but I need to keep it due to work. Really ticks me off

Have you considered VOIP service (Ooma, etc.) to replace your land line? You can keep your number. Monthly charges, after the initial equipment buy, run around $4.00.

sleeperblues I have AT&T and I only wish my rates were that low. I miss my TracFone but when they switched to 4G I succumbed to pressure and got a "real phone" which they did not have at a reasonable cost in this area.

I think sleeperblues is on call for work at times and may be required to have a connection less affected by weather or other natural phenomenon that can cut electricity.

I've had Ooma for years, it's saved me a few thousand dollars compared to a standard landline. But I don't need certainty on our phone connection (though we rarely lose power).

Yeah Sleeperblues, Ooma is the bomb! They have it available at both Costco and Bestbuy. VoiP used to be not so great but it’s really good now; I work from home with it all the time. They also have an upgraded service that gives you the option for a 2nd number, so you can use one for work and one for home.
