Cabinet finish has dark angle markings - what causes this?
Hi - we recently had custom cabinets installed. The end-panels of the island and around the fridge have very dark angled marks all over.
I have not seen this type of marking on any other cabinets on in any images. Is it saw marks? That doesn't seem possible, since it is a cherry veneer. They told me it was natural marbling... but it does not look natural.
The photo is harder to tell the variation, but it is very noticeable in person. The countertop is to be installed later this week. Should we postpone until this can be fixed...
Can anyone tell me what causes this?

Natural Gas Line has no gas. Pipe dope the cause?
Comments (3)On the other hand... I guess the pipe dope could be the cause of the blockage. If I remember correctly, the pressure of the gas in the pipe is actually very low...less than the pressure created when blowing bubbles through a straw in a glass of milk. Comments (3)You could try a magic eraser type thing if nothing else works, but DO test it on the inside of a cabinet door first. Actually, test everything first. Hopefully something will work. Most factory finishes are more durable than we give them credit for. The eraser is abrasive, but most cleaners will be OK in small amounts. Test first. The niche behind your stove is perfect... makes me want to do the same! I'm also doing an appliance garage (on the other end of the counter)... love the look of yours. Comments (21)I love that guests can access the wine bar, coffee bar, and fridge without getting into my work triangle. Though my kitchen is large it is beautifully functional in that the work triangle is very compact and the storage is very intuitive- someone can cook in here for first time and easily find everything. The appliance cab is the deeper one that extends down to the counter. Most of my little appliances are in there and plugged in (toaster, juicer, blender)…I just fold the door back and pull them forward for use and they don’t clutter my counters. Outlets are under cabs except in coffee bar area, where they are in the backsplash but hidden by the 2 coffee machines. it is not just one panel it is multi places around the kitchen and the doors have not even been installed yet. If the custom cabinet maker did not sand it properly or stained it in a way to ruin the wood grain, why would they not have to replace it? It looks like it has car tread all over it.
Also there are issues with other things.
We chose them based on being a top custom cabinet maker rated on Houzz and receiving the "Best of Houzz" ranking multiple years in a row.
We were sold on the claim of top quality material, install and finishes. But these have been the results.
