Newbie in need of some direction.. JD/Troy Bilt/Sears...
Comments (26)My $161.95 early bird service for my JD GT275 turned into $375.81 service. see under posting "John Deere Lawn Tractor Buying Advice Needed: X300 or LA series" Thing of it is I've gotten just as good as life out of my Sears, oh well, The same thing happened when I bought a Lincoln Continental, T-birds were just as good but cost a good deal less. Now retired, I sold the Lincoln 2 weeks before I retired, because of the cost factor. Now, I use my wifes Avalon when I need a car, or just climb up into the Dodge Ram - yeh, it's a hemi. Like I've said I like HP. Enjoy, the cub, dragging that deck alittle at the shed door will do alot less damage than leaving it set out in the weather....See MoreNeed to change directions in style? Comments (20)Rose I really like that light fixture you posted for the front entry. I think it will be a fab flip for the one you have currently. Classic style, goes with a lot of other things, and practically can't go wrong. I am a firm believer in getting the most bang for your buck. Change out that one, see how it plays with the dining room, and if you still have the money and inclination to go further, then on to the dining room. You will either like the contrast or find that it is even more of an imperative to change out the dining room . . . I have a really nasty brass "tulip" light in our dining room, it came with the house. We call it "Audrey" because it unfortunately bears a slight resemblance to the star of "Little Shop of Horrors." I am looking to replace it with a plain black iron chandelier, one I could dress up if I miss the bling, and dress down if I'm growing tired of that look. Honestly, though, the light you have in the dining room is the least of your worries. You should have to live with Audrey . . . Can add flame lights, beads, crystals, or little lampshades. Or serve plain....See MoreNeed some kind of direction on Counter Stools please
Comments (26)Check out this company https://www.amisco.com/en_us/. I purchased swivel stools and selected the seat fabric and frame color. The product is well made. Below is a picture of the stool with a back and one without back which is useful when I working at the island. Fabric is a leather looking vinyl that is easy to keep clean. I like the swivel for easy entry and exit of the stool. I also prefer the lower back so when standing at the island I don’t have to remove the stools. Good luck in your search....See MoreIn need of some design direction!
Comments (12)Thanks for your comments! I’m learning as I go and just discovered the style “cozy elegant” and I think that is exactly the vibe I’m going for! Thank you everyone for your comments as I feel I am being pushed in the right direction. I like elements of modern organic like the neutral bases but I don’t want to copy everything from the modern organic image because that’s too cookie cutter in my opinion. I’ve attached some inspiration photos of “cozy elegant”. I am drawn to luxurious textures like velvet and pops of color. So far some take aways from your comments are… I will tone down on the gold and chromes as “glam” is not what I’m after. Rustic is definitely not what I’m after either. I also want to incorporate textures in my pillows, keep the pop of green (I have lots of plants too) because by staying with earthy colors, I feel as though that will be too much modern organic. Correct me if I’m wrong on this. I will find a nice large rug that I love, like the second picture to centre the room. I’m thinking a light color like in the picture. Thoughts? I will use black as contrast as well. Perhaps a black coffee table, black picture frames on the wall? Two black accent pillows as well perhaps. I was considering gold but- that would be too glam! Thank you again for your comments and please be kind as this is my first home. ☺️...See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
