A picture would have been helpful to see the extent of the rot. The rotted areas need to be eliminated completely and cleaned. Ficus can take a lot of abuse. Then treat it like a cutting. Moist, well drained soil with a means to keep it humid is ideal. An empty large plastic coke bottle with the bottom cut off works as a good humidity dome for small plants. If you are going to use a bottle wash it with diluted bleach first and keep the cap off. Take the bottle off every day for a bit to air it out. The plant may need to be anchored to the soil so that it does not move when it is putting out new roots. Reduce the leaves to may be 3-4. Put it under CFL light. Not incandescents - they produce more heat than light.

Sometimes files can be obliterated from SD cards (and in fact segments can become inaccessible) if the card is removed from a PC without being first dismounted/ejected. Especially if it has been opened by a program and the program is still active, that might have happened at Walmart. I hope the copies on the SD card weren't your only copies. If so, you may be out of luck. If it's important to you, you may want to take the card to a local PC technician (not Geek Squad at Best Buy) to seen if an industrial strength recovery tool might work. It's better to make duplicate copies of photo files from SD cards at your first opportunity. Onto a PC or two, onto an external drive, or both ways. To take files for prints, use a duplicate file copy that you're okay losing if there's a problem. Any one of the following will work - a thumb drive, an SD card used only for this purpose, a burned CD (they cost less than a dime), or even just upload the files directly to the store's website. I use Glysophate (RoundUp) on a regular basis, but would never use Sevin. There is a big difference in the two that a lot of people don't understand. They lump pesticides into two lumps, either they're all bad or all good. If I have to use Sevin to keep a plant healthy I won't grow the plant. Period. There's too many choices out there to get squeezed into a self imposed position like that. A lot of rose growers have no problem with it though. The first time I saw Bagworms was in Johnson City, Texas. I'm glad we don't have them here..........yet. A friend there clears most of the bagworms out of his upright junipers with a leaf rake and handpicks picks what the rake doesn't get. The shell will fill in. As mentioned above, they just look not as thick once you cleared out the dead growth. This arborvitae was planted upright next to a cabin down by a pond. It fell over in an ice storm. I replanted and it fell over again. I left it there on it's side with the rootball half exposed to the dripping water off the north side of the roof. The branches began to grow upright and here they are about ten years later. Yeah, yours will fill in. Mike
