Need help recovering pics a SD card

Have lost apx 1000 pics off my card. Did not lose all the pics, just the last 1000. Help?

Hopefully someone better qualified will come along and chime in but in the meantime, here's what I'd probably try: PhotoRec

A question... does the card show sufficient free space to be hiding approximately 1000 lost images?

Hold up on the utility program download. Stuff like this can be useful in specific situations but is rarely needed.

Plantbug - what did you have, then what did you do, and what have you done since? Explain what you see that makes you think the photos are lost. It may be but your explanation is bare. Need more info about your situation to be helpful

Nice pics & thanks to both of you. ohiojay - Although I am a bit new to growing bananas, I have tried to do a great deal of research to improve my chances of growing banana plants that will yield me some edible fruit. The plants that you refer to as SDC look to me like a "Blood Banana" not a SuperDwarf cav. The dwarf Cavendish and the SDC (to a lesser degree) have the red varigation on the upper leaf when the plants are very small but do not have as much of the red/maroon tint on the bottom side of the leaf as your plants do. I also could be dead wrong. The way I came by this info was by buying a Banana plant at my local Home Depot marked as a dwarf cavendish only to find out later that it was a blood banana (Musa Zebrina?)or similar type. All of the Super Dwarf Cavendish that I now have and all of the other SDC's that I have seen are more thick & stout like Bass' above. My dwarf cav's have "some" red varigation when small but my SDCs have little to none and all have had none by the time they are the size that yours are (30+"). I reccomend that you check with other more experienced banana growers as I could very well be wrong. You could also do an image search on Musa Zebrina/blood banana. Either way, you have a couple of great looking banana plants. Respectfully, -gulfcoast

It really doesn't seem that big of a deal of what always-bezzee did in getting that post to move. It couldn't be replied to so it couldn't be moved. It had sat there for almost 10 days and to me that was more annoying than the process to move it... which was a clever tip that might come in useful. On most forums there are admins that check their places everyday to move these things along. This isn't one of those places and I agree that post could have sat there for a much longer time.

Great find! I love the green fabric you chose to cover and I would definitely NOT skirt such great lines. I also don't think this sort of chair normally has cording, although I guess that's personal preference. It looks authentic now, without cording. I have seen them with partially padded and upholstered arms too, from where arms meet the back to about halfway down the arms, if you felt like trying that. I like the idea of the low-back pillow to add interest... also very easily changed out. Your living room looks so pretty and inviting and I'm loving what the touch of green will do for it too.

I also have a cannon about that age and it clearly states it will not take anything over a 2 GB SD card. That would definitely be my guess as to why you get that error. I agree the point of the memory card is to use it to temporarily store the pictures on the camera till you can off load them to your pc and burn them to cd or whatever medium you choose, take the card in and have them printed out or what ever. Once you do that you have all the space on the card available again. I never use the cable to transfer pictures and never use any software from the camera it is just not needed when you can so easily use the memory card in a memory card reader.

SnidelyWhiplash, I took the card to WalMart to print a picture. A couple weeks later I was trying to show my husband the pictures we had taken on our trip out west. What a surprise I had!!! Less than two weeks of our trip was still there. I ask WalMart about this and I was assured they have no way to erase pics. I did use a recovery program and it shows the dates but no pics. I was hoping someone would have a solution. Thanks for reading my post.

Sometimes files can be obliterated from SD cards (and in fact segments can become inaccessible) if the card is removed from a PC without being first dismounted/ejected. Especially if it has been opened by a program and the program is still active, that might have happened at Walmart.

I hope the copies on the SD card weren't your only copies. If so, you may be out of luck. If it's important to you, you may want to take the card to a local PC technician (not Geek Squad at Best Buy) to seen if an industrial strength recovery tool might work.

It's better to make duplicate copies of photo files from SD cards at your first opportunity. Onto a PC or two, onto an external drive, or both ways. To take files for prints, use a duplicate file copy that you're okay losing if there's a problem. Any one of the following will work - a thumb drive, an SD card used only for this purpose, a burned CD (they cost less than a dime), or even just upload the files directly to the store's website.

You could also try this product, which gets good reviews. I believe that it's free to use for the first 2GB of files. If you have a larger amount, then you have to pay for the program: EaseUS Recovery Tool
