Some blooms on a beautiful Friday

The weather finally moderated here for a least a couple days and then it will be back in the blast furnace. We got a little rain yesterday, not really enough to do any good, but the daylilies seemed to appreciate it. They were beautiful today. The temps climbed to about 85 and we could walk outside without sweat pouring off of us. We were busy hybridizing, but got a few pictures.

I am not usually a fan of polymerous daylilies because they often look lopsided, but It's Miller Time was impressive today.

Jewel of Jewels was lovely today. Its pollen went all over the garden. It really doesn't like our climate, but last winter was apparently more to its liking so it bloomed for us.

Cranberry Winter was added this spring.

Bold Witness is making a big clump.

Becky Adams is blooming for the first time. It was added to the garden last spring.

Catching Fire was just recently moved, but it didn't seem to mind.

Dynamic Apricot Ruffles is a beautiful color, but it is hard to get a good picture of it because it just seems to reflect the sun.

Bob likes Peach Yum Yum, but I an not a fan. I think it's the shape I don't care for.

We moved Spacecoast Thorny Devil last fall (it was in the section smashed by the fallen pine tree) and it seems to like its new location.

I posted Sihir the other day, but today's bloom was much better so I'll post it again. I think it am really going to like this one.

Beautiful. I actually love polys, and It's Miller Time was stunning. And Jewel of Jewels, what a magnificent bloom! Bold Witness looks good, and Spacecoast Thorny Devil is very decorative. I really like Sihir too. Beautiful post, Nancy.

Carrie, No garden is ever done...I ave tons left to do, but love it and thank you for the gracious compliments. Cheryl, the ones that are blooming are mostly form the first patch i planted two year ago. Most of the newere ones aren't blooming yet, and may not bloom this year. Cristie, the peach one is a NOID. I'll be dividig some of that this fall. Got postage? Linda, gardening replaces xanax or paxil or any of those other mood altering substances. Being in the garden alters mine plenty! Thank you for sharing those beauties with us. I received Joan Derified as a bonus this year and your photo of it makes me realize I was lucky! I love Mary Alice Stokes and Key To My Heart...they have been on my wish list for awhile and your pics are gorgeous. Fairest of Them certainly lives up to its name! I shovel pruned Happy Returns today. I still have another clump of it elsewhere so I haven't given up on it yet. The foliage looks awful and it didn't even attempt to rebloom this year. I moved Final Touch yesterday to the front. I have no problem moving a clump of blooming daylilies - I just try not to break the roots when digging them out. Then I water them in really well in their new spot.

I'm going to get Shores of Time again. My first attempt didn't work out well. It's pictures like yours that have convinced me.....I don't care for the name, but Gudrid sure has a lovely vibrant color, and Belle of Ashwood always catches my eye.........So nice to see such pretty blooms this late in the summer.......Maryl

Well, it certainly looks like this season is shaping up to be a poly year, Miller Time looks impressive. I like Dynamic Apricot Ruffles, that is a catch your eye color, could use that bloom here somewhere. The weather was absolutely perfect here today! It was Well overdue

Bold Witness is a bright one. Does it grow like parent Clarification? The Trimmer parents are unreliable here. Becky Adams hasn't bloomed here yet. I think it is probably one of Selman's better ones, and he has had a lot of similar intros. It's a nice pastel.

SC Thorny Devil has good form in your picture. I like the yellow edge too.....Jewel of Jewels stands out with that bold eye and Catching Fire is a pretty thing as well...........Maryl

I LOVE the poly on It's Miller Time! That is something special and after I saw that one, it was already my favorite. It looks like a starfish.

Lovely post. Jewel of Jewels is beautiful. Mine was new last fall but did not bloom this year. Dynamic Apricot Ruffles is a pretty color. Impressive poly on It’s Miller Time.
