ffos and ffes on thursday
Comments (9)Thank you everybody! Speaking of scapes. Some are so tall this year, for instance on S.Doodlebug. I also found a.. rebloom scape, wow! So excited. The normal ones aren't even ready to bloom, and there it was, little rebloom scape :) That's on 70x7. Also found another broken (blasted) scape. Two on Linda's Magic. They are very very thick. And found a fused scape or whatever it would be called, looks like two stuck to each other, weird. Kay, thank you. It was very sad :( Here they are: Blood sweat and tears*, Cast Your Net, Cherry burst, Chicago apache, Daringly different, Filled to overflowing*, Gwin Leman, Handwriting on the wall, Healing touch, Iowa girl, Kitty Wells, Linda Beck, Man of sorrows*, Rachelle Agin, Russian Temple, Song writer, Sp cranberry kid, Vanilla Lace, Xia Xiang. #20 would be No more tears, but I had another one, 2 yo, which died too, but remarkably came back, and looks ok now, but won't flower. The ones with * are re-ordered :) And I will definitely someday reorder Ru Temple, because it was the reason for one of the last year's orders. Thankfully the price came down even more....See MoreNo Rain and two FFEs Today

Julia, Mean Green had its first bloom Yesterday and Hot Tamales and Red Hots are blooming now too. Laura, group shots are always my favorite, along with clump shots. Avedon, I think I have only two of Paul's but there is another one I had and lost that I will replace. I also have one of his that was released in his and my name in honor of my mother; Remembering Elizabeth. Yes, that is Sweet Isabella, and green with envy is what I am when you post some of your beauties...you thankfully told me where to get Jan Sun and I am waiting for her first bloom. It has been so much fun to see the new ones and to see the plants that were re-homed taking off in their new sitution....See MoreThe Next Round Of FFOS and FFES
Comments (16)eri54, here is a picture of Dublin Elaine taken June 19th, 2013. I believe it is the best clump shot I have. Dublin Elaine has always been a good grower for us, very reliable and rarely singles. This picture was taken in the evening about 7:00 p.m. and the flowers look good, no melting out. Dublin Elaine Dick, a closeup of this photo shows a couple of insects. I didn't realize they were in the flowers until I saw the blowup of it. One is probably a grasshopper, don't know about the other one. Also, on the pictures of Good Impression and WB MCR and this one, there are little black insects, they are very prevalent on our plants. I have found slugs on a few flowers, and ants, too. Beautifully Embossed, just realized this is the first Maryott hybrid I have. Maryl, you asked about this one. This may be the last bloom, there weren't many buds on it. It appears to have opened up a little bit more than the previous blooms....See MoreSome FFE's, Multiples and Clumps
Comments (12)Mantis - I've had Princess Diary for four bloom seasons now. It is an evergreen, so I don't know how it would do farther north. It's never been the registered 30 inches tall here. I usually get scapes that are 26-28 inches tall. It multiplies OK. adding a couple of fans every year. It certainly has never had anything near the registered bud count here. Bud count is usually 12-13 per scape, maybe higher last year. I think it's rebloomed twice in the years I've had it. Julia - Judy's Jewel is top budded, but I wouldn't call it heavy. Kate - Return to Camelot is still on the possible cut list. It was looking brown by afternoon today when the high temp was 88. Maryl - I'm glad you like Porterhouse. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I prefer the look in the first shot. Kay - Thanks for your comments. You seem to like them all! Debra...See Moreorganic_kitten
