Closet Bi-Fold Doors
Comments (2)You can order much nicer bi-folds than what is on the sales floor at big box stores like Home Depot and at lumberyards. Ask at the millwork desk. You do not need to put bi-folds on a track - you can put them on regular hinges, which will also allow you to push the doors flat against the walls flanking the closet, so you have better access to the full width of the closet. This takes up less space than conventional doors. I did this for the master bathroom in my previous house because a swinging door would have wasted too much space and blocked a window. Large shutters can be hinged together to make bi-fold doors, and some shutter companies will do that for you for a small additional charge. Many small custom door manufacturers will make bifold doors to spec. Even if not backlit, a frosted or textured glass panel in a closet door can reduce the visual heaviness of a large set of closet doors....See Morewould appreciate your help-looking for shaker bifold closet doors
Comments (2)Check out Simpson doors...made in the PNW. But I think they're sold all over the country. They have some great Shaker style 3 and 5 panel doors that come in bifold, and in multiple choices of woods....See MoreCloset doors - bifold + half of bifold?
Comments (4)We used to have our hampers in the bedroom, but they take up a lot of space in our bedroom's reach in closet (we don't have a walk in and our room isn't huge). Since we have the space in the hallway right outside of our bedroom, I thought we could expand our linen closet and add a laundry section like I had seen in photos online. Because it isn't in a laundry room, I didn't want to leave it open to the hallway and I also didn't like the idea of laundry in with my clean linens, so I thought putting up a wall between them would make sense. Attached is my poor drawing and two ideas I saw online....See Morebifold doors or side by side for closet
Comments (14)So my contractor suggested if I get doors with this raised piece that I can add something similar to my existing bedroom and closet doors so that I don’t need to buy new ones (only replacing closet) and so they all match. He said I can get custom French doors or even a custom 4.5’ custom for the hallway closet if I want it and just leave the bifold in the bedroom (bc of it’s proximity to our bed and my husbands desire to see all his clothes at once which gets rid of sliding doors). Seems like it might be our best plan. I’m wondering if anyone has had success with adding those DIY after the fact....See Moremike_kaiser_gw
