Recommendations for house-to-garage doors

last modified: 5 years ago

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I couldn't find any other place on houzz, so here I go:

It looks like there have been a few discussions around recommended brands for front entry doors, and for interior doors. It looks like people generally recommend spending a bit more on front entry doors with nicer brands, but are ok with more basic/cheaper brands for interior doors.

Where does the house-to-garage (fire-rated) door fall into this lineup? Is it generally worthwhile to buy from a more premium brand (like Provia or Therma Tru) for the house-to-garage door (e.g. for durability, better insulation, security, etc), or do most people just go with like Masonite from Home Depot?

Not sure if this makes a difference from an aesthetics perspective, but in our particular case, our house-to-garage door is only a few steps away and directly visible from the front entry door.
