Make sure that you have under cabinet lighting, your cans seem to be past the edge of your counter top, the person standing there will probably create a shadow.

You will gravitate to the counter between the sink and range for prepping, so the wide aisle will be fine, especially if you have helpers in the kitchen. It will provide a great opportunity to store dishes in the drawers across from the DW, and plenty of space to navigate between.

48" is good between seating and pantry. Once you start using your lovely kitchen, you probably won't notice that the island is off center--just that it's not a barrier island. :)

As long as the lights overhead work well for you with where the island is now located, keep it as is. Looks great as is to me as well.

I understand your disappointment, but don't allow this to get you down. Look for trim streamline seating since the island is a little closer to the walkway than intended. But otherwise this a beautiful kitchen. Happy Decorating!

I can't see anything wrong with it based on these images. It looks to be in a sensible position. Where was it supposed to be? Closer to the sink?

Wow, so gorgeous! Are you staging to sell or is this your personal kitchen?

How about adding on to the end a long wooden table to lengthen it? Something like these for ideas.

I like it, I think your kitchen is about function which makes it beautiful.

The island looks fine. These stools from Pottery Barn are slim and comfortable:

I would have added more recessed lights. Your white kitchen looks to be a bit dark, even though you took the photos in daylight.
