I had a similar experience a long time ago. I had to wait over 15 minutes and call the store 2 times from the pick up desk just to get help! It was not a good experience at all! This was a few years ago, you’d think why would have gotten smart about it by now....especially when you consider that they’re trying to compete with Amazon.

A few years ago I did two orders for pick up at WM, and had the same type of experience. Both times I waited longer to pick up the item than it would have taken to just find it in the store, go to the register and pay.

There is never anyone at the pick up desk and it takes forever to finally get someone to come. I use Amazon much more than Walmart. I go to Walmart only if I want to see the product in person. I have prime and within two days its at my front door.

This is off the subject, but two years ago we bought a new riding lawn mower from Home Depot. Delivery was free if we bought it on line and $80 if we bought it in the store. Now does that make sense.

FYI Menard's is cheaper, by $.30 a box and they have 11% off at least once a month. No delivery and not sure about pick up. I have thought about the stupid "pick up" in the back of myself. The LARGE store rooms are there so I get it..but why not have a drive and door back there too!!!

I have never used the pickup service, but I wonder how well they train these people. Shopping isn’t brain surgery, but I see them standing there staring at the shelves and scanner plenty of times. My Walmart has gotten really bad at restocking stuff lately. Lots of empty shelf space. Took them 3 weeks to get Sunflower seed chips back in. Amazon to the rescue or the birds would have started a riot. It’s not the lack of employees. The electronics section is crowded when I go there Monday mornings for their meeting. Give me a W, give me an A! Don’t think that would boost my morale if I would work there.

That's odd. It doesn't work that way here. I haven't used it, because I always end up seeing something else I want. You order at home. Call them when you get to the store (they have orange parks for pickup) and they bring them to your car.

I have seen them in the store pulling the items and placing in bags. I have also seen the cars in the parks getting their groceries loaded.

I've used the service a few times, but never for more than a couple items at a time. All went smoothly.

The curb delivery is for groceries only, not merchandise.

But she was getting cereal unless she added non grocery items. Our non grocery pickup is at the front of the store at the service desk.

I bought tires online and had them delivered to the local store for installation. It took them 45 minutes to bring the tires out. The store manager was even involved. How hard do you think it would be to sort out 4 tires from all the little knick knacks in the room?

Our store seems to be well set up, although I've only used it once, and that was just after they started it. But the pickup desk is at the front, and there are orange parking spaces, and signs, and arrows.

It's getting hard to find parking at some chains. By the time you take out handicapped parking, vet parking, parking for pregnant women, parking for mothers with children, parking for in-store pickup, the remaining three customers need a shuttle service to the remote lot!!

Sherry, I had added a surge protector to my order that I needed today. Otherwise, I would have had the whole order shipped to me for free.

Ah. I've still never had the trouble you did. However, what I order is not carried in the store and is shipped to the store for pick up. Did you call and talk to the manager? They need to know what is going on.

Yeah....done that. Now try to return it....they won't refund the tax. You have to fill out a form online and that's too much trouble.

I despise Wal-Mart. I shop there for some things but most most of the time anymore I just buy them at a smaller grocery store or the Dollar Tree in town. The store is too big and I hate having to walk all over to pick up a few items.

Sherry, I left online feedback, but I seriously doubt that they care. I think Sushipup1 is right on target with their approach.

Next time, if there is a next time, be sure and grab a shopping cart and head to the back with the cart!

I just have the items shipped to my home, for free.

I ordered some curtains and rods the other day from Walmart and got free shipping. The rods came on two different days and the curtains arrived together. The thing that was the most amazing to me were the boxes that these curtain rods were shipped in. The boxes were so huge and it seemed like such a waste.

They refunded mine just last week. I got the exact amount I paid including the tax.

Our Walmart has a giant orange tower from the floor to the ceiling. Scan a QR code and your order pops out. Over size items are in a locker next to it. Other Walmart’s have an express puck up and return lane.

There is more than 1 Wal-Mart near me. One is awful for pickup and I will never do it there again. The other one has a wonderful system so I use that store.

We don't have one, but down the road there's one that provides a covered pick-up area. You scan your order from phone or printed form and wait in car. Items are brought out to your vehicle or 3-wheel tricycle.

I order online using Home Delivery! I love the convince of the FedEx or UPS driver carry my groceries to my front door! When ordering laundry isle items it doesn't take long to add up to the $35 min. to receive free delivery. Best of all, I don't have to drive 66 miles round trip to spend an hour or more loading my cart, standing in line to check out, unloading my cart to check out then pushing a full cart across the parking lot, unloading cart into my auto. Then unloading auto and carrying into my house! Buying non perishable and heavy stuff that they will deliver to my front door really simplifies my life!! Simple Is Good!

You do need to have awareness of what the item(s) costs in store. Sometimes the WMT online price is more. Perhaps to offset shipping costs. Also, the prices seem to change often. I guess they’re trying to get there algorithm worked out. We loaded up on non-perishables when WMT first started online ordering and gave a 10% discount for your first 3 orders.

aok27502, I appreciate your parking frustration but may I say that I have my own problems because there never seems to be enough handicapped parking. Or the van-accessible spaces are either taken by cars, or people have parked too far over the striped area meant for wheelchair ramps. I am in a power wheelchair and have no choice as to where my van can park that will allow my ramp to let down so I can either get in or out. Walmart, especially, seldom seems to have an empty spot. Please don't advocate for parking lots having fewer spaces.
