It was purchased as a plant (no seeds) and those are the new leaves after cats devoured the regular leaves on it. I actually have a yellow milkweed plant (purchased as a huge plant) and it's new leaves are different from the older leaves. Maybe it's these butterflies telling me they love what I'm doing for them :) Happy Gardening, Jeannie :)

When a hybrid tea has produced flowers, ( in the perfect garden ) one would cut the dead flowers plus stem off to the next budeye. The cut stem then produces more buds and flowers in a few weeks. In the summer, after most of the flowering is over, then you can cut the rose back by about 12 inches, fertilize, and the rose will produce another nice flush in the fall. The flowers should be the same size. Smaller lowers are usually caused but not enough sun, which you have, or something is affecting the roots. Too much fertilizer usually shows up as burnt tips of the leaves.

Could have been crown rot. Typically doesn't happen too often. It happens every now and then when conditions are favorable ... warmth, humidity, too wet soil, pot too big, etc. Try another plant ... or two. Keep it in a plastic pot no larger in diameter than 1/3 the spread of the plant. Make sure that the pot has drainage holes. Water it sparingly, typically no more than once/week. Drain off any excess water every time you water. Keep temperatures in the plant's growing area between 60-75 F / 15-24 C Make sure that it gets adequate light (either natural or fluorescent/LED) for 12 hours or so each day. Every now and then, add a pinch of AV fertilizer to your watering mix.

I mixed it at a 40:1 ratio like I always have, but I'm obviously missing something, there ain't much to these motors, I can't believe its this hard to figure it out, its seems like the scratches on the piston is too small to cause this, but its the only thing left that I can think of, but I'm no mechanic, just a carpenter 🤣
