Need a "white" for white cabinets!
This forum gave me so much help yesterday with regards to countertop-thank you! We have now picked Super White for our island stone. The perimeter will be a dark charcoal quartz. I will do some variation of subway tile for the backsplash. I tend to like cool, bright whites...and my "go to" for all white to this point has always been Ben Moore in Super White with varying sheens. Whether ceiling, wall or trim....it's always Ben Moore Super White.
I'm having trouble picking out a safe white for the cabinets. Can I pick Super White for the cabinets or will it be too stark? I don't like the warmer whites generally.....but maybe there is something in the middle? Other whites that have been mentioned are simply white (Warm) or Paperwhite (not sure).
I will likely paint the trim Super White...to stay consistent with the rest of the house. I think there should be some contrast between the cabinets and the trim tho....right? Any help would be appreciated....the room will get a fair amount of natural light...and the floors are a wood plank looking tile in a medium brown. I have no clue on wall color yet. Thanks for any insight.

Comments (6)I would bring sample paint chips to where your slab is (paint chips or sample cabinet doors with your chosen paint on it). The lighting will most likely be different there than your home light, but it should give you a good idea of how the colors blend together. I would also try to get a sample of your slab and bring it home along with your sample paint chips/cabinet doors. I would not automatically paint your cabinets the color of your home doors and trim because unless you’ve matched up your slab to the color of your home trim, you could be making a huge mistake. Comments (2)We considered Bakery Box for our cabinets. Went with Valspar Woodlawn Dewmist. But - the only recommendation I can give is to get samples of the whites that you like from multiple manufacturers. Paint at least a 5x7 if not 8x10 stretched fabric panel with them. Look at the colors in all types of lighting conditions. Both Bakery Box 'Dewmist' are not pure whites. Comments (61)@Lisa I do have a question for you! The thing that concerns me about Cambria is the heat comments. I would never put a hot pan on any countertop. BUT what about things like an All Clad Slow Cooker? Moccamaster or Nespresso Coffee maker? Instant Pot? What things like this needs something under them to use? Air Fryer.. I would think Vitamix would be fine? I think it would look awful to always have something under the coffee make or Vitamix. The other things are not kept on the counter. I have never had to use something under them with the granite countertops. I don't Have to go with quartz. If I do go with quartz it will definitely be Cambria. I thought about going with marble but I am a messy cook! I still want to see your blue when I go back to the beach. (My husband seems to be set on Cambria white! But that might be more due to him being tired of ldiscussions about the countertop.)...See More

5 years agoChantilly is a cooler white w/slight icy undertones. All depends on your individual lighting. I just use the white right out of the can. No added tint.
