Seriously, I'm having this conversation with my DH right now. Every couple of days, I have a new "favorite" white. I think my problem is I'm afraid to commit. I never stress over the wall color. It's sooo easy to change. Cabinet color is harder to change. Here's a couple I've sampled: Benjamin Moore (BM) White Dove OC-17 - a bright, grey white. Light Reflective Value (LRV) 90 Cool undertone BM Cloud White OC-130 LRV 87.1 - not as bright as White Dove LRV 87.1 BM Feather Down OC-7 LRV 73.8 - a moodier gray off white, Cool undertone. The frame does take up space, which is why many people with smaller kitchens who may like the framed look opt for frameless anyway so that they don't lose that precious extra space. For example, my cabinet door sits inside the box instead of outside of it, so I lose 3/4" (the thickness of my door) of space inside the cabinet. My drawer fronts are even thicker -- 1 1/2" -- so every drawer has 1 1/2" less space inside than a comparable frameless drawer. Hope that makes sense. I knew I was going to lose some space, but I loved the look of the faceframe inset cabinets so much, and my kitchen is pretty big. Here is rmkitchen's kitchen. She has frameless cabinets but her kitchen reminds me of your inspiration kitchen because her cabinetmaker used trim to make her doors/drawers appear inset. She wanted to get maximum usage of space. Maybe you can make another post asking people for more pictures of frameless cabinets made to look inset? Good luck! E

I actually have the magazine because I was thinking neutral. But true neutrals don't look great in our house, they turn gray due to the insufficient natural light. So in an attempt to brighten up the place we went with light colors in the LR and KFR, BM gentle cream and 1/2 F&B cooking apple. I previously posted day-time photos but the colors didn't come out right on those. These photos were taken in the evening (pardon the mess from removing the old corner cupboards): One paint coat only so far, so they might get a bit darker after the second coat. I can't say I love that cooking apple, but DH and the kids do love it and really want to keep it. It is a very happy color without being irritating but the problem I have with it, it is so "clean" that I am afraid of glazed cream kitchen cabinets appearing dirty. It would look great with white but I don't want white. I can totally relate to what ttodd said about very light off-white colors not being as rich as you hope. In this case the kitchen is right next to our "formal" eating area so I do want to end up with a rich cream which looks great in the evening. However the kitchen has no windows where the cabinets are going (dead corner) so there isn't a lot of natural light during the day (which is also one of the reasons for going painted and not dark wood) so it can't be too dark either. After looking at paint chips again, I am not even sure the dining cabinets and the kitchen have to be the same color, the lighting is very different. Any ideas?

Your range hood is gorgeous. I think that the off-white glazed cabinets would look stunning with the range hood, i think they would defintely compliment each other. The plain white would look to simple next to that hood. In the magazine picture of the kitchen you posted, those cabinets look white with no glaze and the kitchen has a very crisp, formal look to it. I think the range hood that you picked looks very warm and the cabinets would look beutiful with the glaze.
