My daughters' bedroom needs help
Comments (23)Wow, you know I'm not so sure about your question regarding the chair rail. Of course typical height from what I understand is 32-36 inches depending on chair height and such, but for this situation, that's a good question. The concern I would have about putting it too much higher would be a matter of proportion and how pleasing to the eye that would be. If 36 inches is still too low, you may want to consider doing a separate thread and asking what heights other people ended up with when doing something similar. In regards to color for the rail, that is totally up to you, but I wouldn't worry about matching it to the furniture. I would want to match the rail with the trim and doors because it looks more cohesive. Glad you like the polk-a-dot idea, just keep them sparce, it won't take a lot to give it that fun look....See MoreMismatched bedroom

Comments (3)Since you have other tile that you "eventually hope to replace", I would suggest forming a plan now. You'll need to consider the following things: 1. Do you want the same flooring throughout? You say you don't "hate" the look of different flooring, but that is not the same as "I love having different flooring:" 2. What would be the time line for doing the other flooring? Is it one year? Five years? Twenty years? 3. How good are you at delaying gratification? Can you live with a floor you want to change (what you already have) for a year until you are ready to do everything else? Could you live with it for five years? 4. Is the bedroom flooring you have currently usable for the next year or do you have to do something? 5. Are you OK with ripping out the new flooring in the bedroom when you re-do the other floors because you decide then that you want it all the same? When you answer those questions, you'll know what to do....See MoreWhich of these neutrals do I need to get rid of to fix my bedroom?
Comments (19)What do you see here? You see tone on tone and t.e.x.t.u.r.e. Shine, and smooth...bumpy and not. Pale and white and warmer. First, yank the vertical blinds back to the sides, and take a daylight picture. Add two more panels.. A FLAT TAN COTTON sheet or pillow cases is not a thing you want. What the heck is this lump?: ) No...... A linen sham looks like this You need two.......and a duvet cover to match A down comforter or even an hypo comforter needs a cover. It's not a bedspread to be yanked up as such. Get it to match the linen parchment shams above put the filler in, and fold it back in half, or thirds https://www.thecompanystore.com/comfort-wash-soft-linen-duvet-cover/50548D.html?dwvar_50548D_color=SHADOW%20BLUE&dwvar_50548D_Comforter_T_CK=TTXL&cgid=man-topofbed-type-duvetcovers Put bright white underneath that duvet that is now folded back......the best? No wrinkles, washes beautifully, lovely texture... Garnet hill Now you need an accent....., right? A lumbar pillow! Watch the discount stores! saw some great ones yesterday toss a toasty throw on the bed. Lamps..... not what you have.....: ) Go to a Home Sense.... Ditch the clunky side tables.....example https://www.raymourflanigan.com/outlet/accents-clearance/ryandale-accent-table-374024400?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GSH_PLA_Direct+Ship&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_qexBhCoARIsAFgBletXafkwNKxLa2qoDnVcuAqx4GF0r3-18tChmwvpY6ATfZ2y8uCRdHMaAgJIEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds As to the window....get two more panels, obliterate the vertical blinds... Look back at the inspos.....fo you see a dark fan? Nope. You see a light: ) Take your time....and know that when you see an inspo? You look and ask.....exactly WHAT do I see?...See More- 5 years ago
