Help with Paint Color Please! (SW vs BM) - pictures attached!
Comments (46)Zory, there is definite contrast, enough that you know the walls are not painted the same color as the trim. But it’s not super high contrast. I am going to attach a few photos. They are not ideal but I am out of town and these are the best that I have on my camera currently. I could take some better ones for you if I were at home. My kitchen cabinets are painted the same color as my trim and my ceiling is painted Heron Plume like my walls. If you focus on areas where you can see the white trim or cabinets next to the painted wall or ceiling, hopefully you will get an idea of what it looks like....See MoreWhat coordinating whites go with Light French Gray by SW and Sea-Salt
Comments (1)It depends a lot on your natural and artificial light. We have a ton of natural light. We have cool-toned wall colors throughout our house. Downstairs we have SW Light French Gray, SW Monorail Silver, SW Silverpointe, and SW Crushed Ice. Our cabinet and trim color is SW Pearly White. We chose that because it’s a warmer white, and “reads” as bright white because of all the natural light shining in. It might be wrong in your rooms. Make sure all your lighting is installed and upgraded to nice bright LEDs, then you can judge your paint samples. SW Snowbound was our second choice....See MoreWhat white trim color goes with Sherwin Williams White Duck (SW 7010)?
Comments (26)I'm looking for a neutral gray/off-white with an LRV of 70-75 that doesn't read purple (many grays and grieges do!), blue, or pink. I don't want a throwback to "builder's taupe." And after seeing White Duck on the wall in my house, I'd definitely characterize it as tan. In photos online, it looks like a warm off-white with a hint of green. In my house, it's brownish beige. I might have liked it 20 years ago....See MoreGray paint for most of house with SW Creamy trim?
Comments (18)I appreciate the advice, but I feel like I'm getting more and more confused (and panicked, as I have to make a decision by the end of the day). In putting the samples on the walls, BM Revere Pewter looks the best. It is darker than I had planned to go, but really looks best with the trim. I'm leaning towards going with that, but when I compare the chroma of Revere Pewter to the SW Creamy, it is actually pretty close (.98 to .91). So, is it not ok to use those colors together? Also, since the master bedroom has a door on it, I can go with a different color in there. Would it be ok to paint the walls the same color as the trim (SW Creamy)? I think it would brighten up the room, and look good with our rug and bedding....See MoreBeth H. :
