Wall paint color with white cabinets? Need opinions! (Pics)
Comments (33)Thanks for the info! Our test door came with just the cup hole drilled, but it was exactly where I had specified. I talked to Lowell (I hope I have his name right!), and he told me they could do the IKEA pattern, but just send him the template and a digital photo. I'm pretty sure we will go with Advantage. Their pricepoint is the lowest I've found. And I have checked probably 50 different suppliers. I had a line on another company, and their prices jumped from my original estimate, and now I see they don't even put their prices on their site; they want a quote request filled out. They are claiming the "lowest" prices, but I am skeptical. In going with Advantage, do you think I should add another 1/16th to my measurements? I read that they have an allowance of 1/8" either way on their doors, which could be concerning if they are short. Hmmm. Food for thought. I'm looking forward to your full pictoral spread! :^)...See Moreneed honest opinions about wall art. pics inside:
Comments (39)I think it is very hard to determine what speaks to you when it comes to art, but I am not loving the pieces you have picked for the side of the thermostat. I agree with the others that they seem to be rather predictable. I keep on going back to the orange pillow which I love. I really would like to see that color represented on that long wall in some way. I am also envisioning some piece of "furniture/something?" on that long wall between the chair and bookcase - as others have suggested. To me the room seems as if there is too much going on in the other three areas especially with those beautiful windows, and this long wall is very lacking. I don't think the desk is really adding much interest. Keep looking. Les, don't mean to hijack here, but I am curious if you are on the east coast like me (CT). It is so peaceful and I have the luxury of sleeping as late as I like. I have always loved seeing the sunrise - not from getting up early, but from still being up from the night before. Like you I try to break the habit, but it is too tempting to read till daybreak. Just want to say how much I enjoy your critiques....See MoreNeed help - North Facing Room conundrum - opinions on my colors (pics)
Comments (39)Hi again Mysteryegg -- have you run screaming from your own thread yet? Just a quick question so we can incorporate our various views into helping you find a LR-to-hall color that makes you happy...even though if it's one color it will probably look a little different room to room! can you share some photos/art/clothing that you're drawn to? could be rooms, landscapes, street scenes? can you tell us a bit about why you like what you're sharing? Sometimes that helps provide a great starting point when combined with a room's lighting, geographic location, "permanent" elements like floors or tile etc. Because if you're someone who's drawn to soft misty shades, or bold jewel tones, or earthy forest hues and your room's natural + artificial lighting isn't doing your favs justice...that's where compromise happens. You'll either need to get to a color that works well *enough* for your personality AND place or choose a side.* *see April, I did read your posts ;) Temperament: it may explain that Scandi love of white walls even when the snow's up to their chins....See MoreNeed your help with the TV accent wall, please!!!!!
Comments (4)You are exactly right about the busy design on the credenza. That is exactly why I was thinking of something less busy with the molding trim. Do you have any thoughts on what to do with the wall?...See MoreElle
