Can you post a floor plan labeling what’s what and include the proposed mud room garage addition and exterior details in the affected area, like walkways, patios, driveway, etc. And if you could post actual pictures of the existing space, that’d be more helpful than a digital rendering. ;)

Sorry, I don't have actual picture because that space is currently two rooms with a wall in the middle, and we are going to remove the wall and make it a bigger room of about 23x18. Everything is on a design stage. The wall for french door and mudroom door is a dry wall now.

I used Lowe's virtual room designer and don't know how to label and add exterior feature. I will try to explain it better.

The black block in the center against wall A represents TV. The door next to the TV goes to mudroom. The french door goes to backyard. So there is a wall outside perpendicular to wall A between french door and mudroom door, which is one wall of mudroom. Hope it helps.

Moving the TV placement might help with this situation. But just use a standard door and paint it the same color as the wall so that it visually disappears. Often when people try to minimize something they just end up highlighting it more.

Maybe I didn’t do a good job of wording my request. I was trying to figure out if it was possible/feasible to have the entrance to the garage/mud room on the outside wall that’s perp. to wall A which you’d access from the french doors via a covered walkway or loggia. That way you could eliminate the need for that solid door, giving you more usable wall space.

We thought about that possibility. With a covered walkway or loggia, it is more like a detached space. We can accept a detached garage, but we dont like a detached mudroom.

The TV would work better on the right wall the door could just be the same as the french door, why make this anymore complicated than nessessary.
