Mmmm, prime sirloin. I'm staring and staring at this, trying my best to figure out how you got those fancy grill marks dsarch? I'm taking a stab at: you found a cast iron 'something' and used that to grill on' - ? A trivet? Oh wait! You heated a trivet on your grill until uber hot, then stamped your steak with it? Do tell! It's incredibly unique!

Gorgeous plating as always... makes me want to grill pineapple (DH would kill me if I grilled his precious watermelon, or in any way compromised it from it's natural state, LOL!). I love how your pineapple resembles a rack of ribs.

Rained here, so no grilling, which made me very sad as a new to grilling grill-er. Just got some pre-grilled ribs from the freezer (they were still lovely), served with tomato and mozz slices, drizzle of vinaigrette.

Dcarch, I appreciate the sense of balance (and color). Never been a fan of food haphazardly lumped into a plate.

I thought I commented on this, and I can't remember what we had on Memorial Day -- little nutty around here. What I do remember is looking at your grilled plate and thinking, wow, does that pineapple look good, oh and that's watermelon, and hey, snow peas would work well too.

This meal would actually work very well for my husband and me -- he could eat the steak, and I could eat everything else:)

And so, I have to ask? What is the flower garnish? Was looking for violets the other day (thought of you) and could only find ground ivy in the yard HA!

For Memorial Day I made a huge batch of potato salad, deviled eggs, broccoli coleslaw then we did hamburger and hotdogs - simple and very traditional. The different thing I did was do a big batch of blueberry "pie" filling in the crockpot that I served over vanilla ice cream - added cinnamon and a little ginger to the blueberries.

I also noticed the grill marks - very decorative and love the grilled fruit and veggies. I had a pineapple margarita recently that had a grilled pineapple garnish.

Kind words, dcarch, but just a mom. That said, I'll return the compliment and ask if you're a professional food stylist? Cause if not, you should be:) Honestly, your plating, if not always beautiful, always peaks my curiosity; case in point, I'll probably never look at Hostas in the same way again:)

Need to look into snow peas for next year -- not only for the veg, but the blossom.

Yes, dcarch is inspiring isn't he? You know, because of your plating dcarch (and plating is part of the experience), I want to now plant all edible flowers around the little gold fish pond (I figure the gold fish pond cleaning will help fertilize too).
