Anyone else getting 100 gnat/midge bites?
Comments (3)Do a google search for "gnat bites". You'll get more information and sites than you'd believe. I see them every year but this is the year they visited me inside the cottage. Probably only a few but they had all night to work me over. I could tell it was while I was sleeping because the bites are on my arms, legs, feet and top of chest, the areas uncovered when I'm in my short nightgown. When I'm awake and either gardening or working in the cottage, I wear shoes & socks, and long pants and a T shirt AND a long-sleeved shirt over that. I'm going to spray insect repellent on the screens. Also, rubbing alcohol helps the itch a bit, for a while. One of the articles says gnats like water, muddy ground and mulch. Guess what we have: birdbaths, brackish pond, wetlands and mulch. Carol...See MoreIs anyone else getting this message?
Comments (54)A long script may be an infection or a nasty tracking code. It could also be some 'wild code' that got away from Garden Web. What to do: Exit Garden Web. Bring up your control window of your virus scanner and check for updates. If updates are available, download and install. Exit the internet and have your anti-virus software scan your system. And then, reboot. The above instructions is not a cure-all, but a precaution. A poorly writtne or bad script can grab your computer resources to the point where not much can be accomplished. Another option some of my aquainences uses is o scan with CCleaner. The free on-lne version has been helpful in clearing out unwanted junk that clogs a sysgem. This is one of the problems with social forums. These can become infected unknowingly by a user. Often, the infection in an attachment or link to another site....See MoreAnyone Else Getting "New Question Site Survey" Pop Up
Comments (4)I wrote a fed up letter to GW and that banner below disappeared. That means others did it, too. Write to Tamara. The more the better. I pissed & moaned about 3 sides of the screen being blocked by ads, and that newest, bottom ad even covered up where I was trying to type. There is no shame in the $$ they'll take from advertisers. I did mention that I would never, ever by from the advertisers that were blocking my screen. Again, I wish I were powerful enough to think my letter made a difference, but volume is volume....See MoreIs anyone else getting annoying App Popups?
Comments (9)Try some of the other browsers available in the Apple Store, there's a Firefox option now too. Look into it because there's an adblock for it. Adblock is the best adblocker. http://www.virtualfirefox.com/adblock-for-ipad I have heard that Perfect browser is a good alternative. Other browsers potentially could have better ad blocking options. Do a Google search for browsers for iPad great information there. Are you sure you got Adaware? Because it's not an ad blocker, it's a malware, Spyware, etc removal tool. Not used much near as much these days as it was years ago.
