Upholstered Bed/Headboard
Comments (12)I also got one on hsn. It was $300 for a Cal King. The legs are somewhat adjustable, but still far too tall for my bed. I bought a mounting bracket on Amazon for $20 or $30 and hung the frame on the wall. I love that it doesn't creak or anything - I'm amazed that it really doesn't move at all. Also, buying the mounting bracket was cheaper than buying the "super special exclusive" brackets from Select Comfort (we have a Sleep Number bed.) The headboard is comfortable to lean against. It did have a packaging smell to it - I had to let it air out in my dining room for around a week before I brought it up to my bedroom. When I was looking, they had the same headboard on the csn stores website for around the same price. Here is a link that might be useful: hsn headboard...See MoreIs Ethan Allen made in the USA?
Comments (33)Everyone forms their own opinion about the quality of furniture also budget is the key role, I try to do my research and a majority of descent furniture companies make the upholstery Goods in the Carolinas doesn't pay for them to make them overseas even though the case goods are usually made overseas.. style is another factor , Harden furniture is made in Upstate New York from trees grown on their property ..beautiful furniture quality is fantastic but the style is limited you could check out their website, I like Mitchell Gold upholstery goods they're made in the Carolinas huge material selection, and they're not crazy price I just purchased a sofa for 3000 which I didn't think was that bad.. Sherrill is another furniture manufacturer little more pricey but beautiful.. I always liked Thomasville Furniture prior to being made overseas I thought the upholstery goods and case goods were great yet someone who prefers Baker would turn their nose up at Thomasville, Bernhardt, Drexel ,henredon etc... personally I thought they were all nicely made and designed Furniture prior to being made overseas. A little research will go a long way and I'm sure you'll find exactly what you're looking for for the right price...See MoreUpholstered Bed Fabric Decision
Comments (26)I have a velvet headboard (technically mohair velvet) and I sit up to read but my head doesn't rest on the actual headboard any more than the top of my head hits the headboard when sleeping. Now I have an adjustable bed (which I highly recommended) but for years I had a regular mattress and I would use pillows to plump up for reading comfortably in bed. Since my prior headboard was wood, I didn't use it to rest my head on either because it would have been uncomfortable. I don't understand why people are so fearful of using color - I don't want to be surrounded by beige and I am not so fickle that I am going to get tired of looking at stuff in colors that I love. FWIW, I have NO BEIGE in my current remodel except that my walls are painted a creamy color :-). In terms of actual beds, you can get just an upholstered headboard made - many people do. The headboard attaches to whatever the frame you are using to support the mattress. If you go this route, you can have any fabric you want done - and any style, shape or configuration of headboard and aren't limited to what you see being sold. I opted for having my bed made based on an inspiration from Anthropologie because I wanted a more finished look with side boards and foot board but many opt for just a headboard - here's my friend's custom head board And here is my inspiration bed from Anthropologie...See Morehow to keep dust from going under low upholstered bed
Comments (57)I have a low profile bed too which is faux leather upholstered. And every 2 weeks I lifted the mattress and juggled to clean the dust bunnies with my vacuum cleaner. I searched for products I could use to fix this problem. A few months ago I came across this wonderful product. And now it's dust free under by bed for the last few months. Here is a link https://munirazk51.wixsite.com/thisnthat/post/no-more-dust-bunnies It is very easy to install and not expensive. It gets the job done. It has a lot of other useful applications. I have used it on front door, room doors, closet doors, under sofa. I see so much difference in the dust in my house. I hope it helps....See Moreajrmcr
