Comments (1)Ethan Allen is not what it used to be. When it was made in the USA it enjoyed a stellar reputation for quality and durability. All pieces are now made in Pacific Rim countries and have not held up as well. You can read consumer complaints at the website below....keep in mind there would be no compliments on this web page...... Comments (92)We recently spent almost $30K in Ethan Allen, Pasadena on a dining set and two sofas for our new condo. To make a long story short, the dining tabletop had significant flaws, blemishes, chipped corners and holes filled with putty. Don’t fool yourself with in-store samples. Once they have your money, you are stuck with what you get and no one takes responsibility for what has been delivered to your home. The accent pillows that came with the sofas did not match our selected material and did not include the surrounding fringes. Tiffany, the sales lady evidently had not placed the correct order according to our selected material. Despite sending pictures of our selected material to Greg the manager as well as Tiffany, both of them still refuse to take any responsibility and accept their mistake. After spending some $30 K in this store, they refuse to even replace $200 worth of pillows due to their own mistake. When you are in Ethan Allen, you think you’re dealing with a reputable company until the furniture is delivered. If you’re in the market for anything with after-purchase services and warranty, you’ll be better off avoiding Ethan Allen. Their sales tactics are just like entering car dealerships. Never again will I or anyone in my extended family shop at Ethan Allen. Don’t give them any of your hard-earned money. Horrible service, no accountability and their prices are very expensive. They deserve numerous negative stars, if any star at all....See MoreDiscounts on Ethan Allen?
Comments (14)My EA British Classics dresser is the same price today, $1499, as I paid for it back in 2001, so that hasn't gone up. And yes, the warehouses do have clearance sales a few times a year, but you probably need to have purchased EA furniture to get on the mailing list. I will echo what other people are saying about the furniture being priced too high for what it is. IMO that dresser should have cost about $1,200, if not less. On one of the larger drawers two of the boards are slightly splitting apart, and recently I noticed a knot mark that seems to be leaching sap or something. There is still quality, solid wood furniture, being made in the U.S. I found a beautiful dresser at Crate & Barrel recently made by a Vermont company called Copeland. Solid cherry, absolutely perfect fit and finish, and just $2,000, which I think is a deal considering the excellent quality....See MoreAny Recent Experience With Ethan Allen Sofas?
Comments (30)I am happy to share my experience with Ethan Allen Sleeper sofas hoping it will help others. We bought a Paramount Sleeper Sofa in 2013. In 2017 we noticed that the front pad that supports the cushions was bulging out (see photo). We contacted Ethan Allen and they said that because the problem was not in the frame, it was out of warranty. I looked at other pieces of furniture in our home and I noticed that the EA sofa, unlike other items, had a very “squishable” pad to support the cushions. We told EA that the sofa is seldom used (at most 20 times per year) and that my husband an I are not heavy and felt that there must be a problem with the design or construction. The final decision came in an email, from which I copy directly: “In conjunction with our warranty department, Jenn and I have carefully reviewed each of your questions and concluded that the sofa is up to our manufacturing standards.” We were told that our only option was to buy a replacement pad and pay a technician to replace it. When the pad arrived it was tightly rolled in a box (see photo). How is this soft pad supposed to support the weight of someone sitting on it? As I wrote EA, the sleeper and frame are “great”, unless one sits on the sofa. Not a good thing... for a sofa. And certainly not good “manufacturing standards” for Ethan Allen....See MoreHolly- Kay
