Gardenweb gone for good??
Comments (19)Well, not exactly Chess. I'm really glad that works for you, but it doesn't work for a lot of people. I can sometimes get into GW by signing in from a page with no Houzz equivalent, but not always. Some people have no trouble with keeping on the GW side of things and others can never get to the GW format. It seems to be pretty random as to what works/doesn't work for different people/devices. BTW, I have noticed that not all houzz content in a given area appears in the GW format. Posts with polls usually don't, for one example. If you stay logged in, just be aware that houzz is as tracky as FB so you forfeit any browser privacy if you go to other sites with houzz cookies in your browser, and even the houzz GW cookie is like that....See MoreHOUZZ fascism strikes again!
Comments (41)roseangellyn, you don't have messages enabled on your profile, so I can't contact you. To enable messages, hover over "Your Houzz" in the upper right corner of the page. From the list on the left of that page, click "edit profile". Go to advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll see "who can message me". Choose "allow anyone to message me", click "update". After you do this, a "message" option will appear for me on your page. Let me know when you get it done and I'll be glad to send a message ;) John...See MoreHOUZZ facsism strikes again!
Comments (47)Paul, that's exactly it. But after the first full day of it, it went away for me. I don't know what's going on, but it hopefully won't continue to bother you. I found temporary relief by clearing the Houzz cookies (it did come back later, no matter what I did); try that and reboot, to see if that helps. After you reboot, be verrrrrrry careful when you do a search; when you type in the search bar and the dropdown list of topic options appears, to NOT search in "advice", no matter WHAT you're looking for. Once you do, the cookie for the dang pop up will get stored again. It's a pestilence. John...See MoreHouzz. At It Again. And 'Eugene de Beauharnais'
Comments (8)I think this is one of those old roses (1838!) whose color varies depending on the climate, soil, specific weather, etc. I took some pics of blooms on mine (I have three separate plants, but two of them are rooted cuttings of the old one, so they are all the same clone. Anyway, here are 2 pictures I took yesterday. Some of the blooms are way more red than the pictures above, but others are pinker. I found similar colored photos on HMF of this rose, so I think the variations are natural. My reddish blooms right now have a lot of very much darker outside petals, almost trending towards black. I so love roses hybridized before "stable color" was a goal of the hybridizers! Jackie...See Morealex9179
