Bringing my floor level.

Harry Graham

My House is a stem wall poured block home constructed in the mid fifties. The slab in my kitchen about 1 inch taller than the rest of my home. I'm renovating and putting in new tile from the kitchen to the rest of the "common areas" and now I'm looking for the best way to bring the house up to level with my kitchen. It's too small an area to feather out, too large and thick for SLC. I have considered using a plywood sub-floor or screeted Portland cement but I'm also hoping to get this done on a dime. Any suggestions besides burning it down and collecting insurance?
