Ugly Corner in Kitchen! Looking creative backsplash advice

We need ideas. Any creative minds out there? We cannot decide what to do for our kitchen backsplash/wall area. We wanted simple flat/matte finish white subway tile up to the ceiling, however there is a problem. In the photos, you will see an awkward corner. I will have to cut the tile pieces in half where they meet at that corner, to keep the offset pattern. For us this will kill the flow of the tile and make it look cluttered. There will be a range/stove in the space between the cabinets. We will have light wood floating shelves on either sides of the window. We are not partial to subway tile. We were thinking maybe plank/shiplap could work as well. There will be no upper cabinets. Hardware will be flat black. The flooring will be a light wood colored. There will be a small light pendant coming down above sink. Looking for different ideas? Maybe advice on how we can keep the subway tile looking crisp in that corner?
