I don't know about the compatibility issues, but I would add Miele to the ovens you consider- though I think Bosch is a great choice- just one more brand to consider. Could you put the oven under the counter away from the cooktop?

Unfortunately, it would be difficult to put the oven any other place in my kitchen. I will look at the Miele ovens - I hadn't thought about them. Thanks!

I'm sure you have already thought of this, but just it case you didn't, Gaggenau offers dominos in their Vario line, so you could have your induction and gas cooktops with an undercounter oven that is compatible for sure- just in case you have a problem with the Wolf tops and different oven.

PS When most people think of the Gagg oven they think of the wall one - they have an undercounter one that opens regularly as well.

Thanks Rita! I have a call into Wolf to find out whether I can put another brand of oven under the Wolf cooktops. They will have someone call me this week as they are not open today (Memorial Day) for those types of questions. Do you have any thoughts on my combining the 24 inch gas and 15 inch induction cooktops?

I have two houses- one with induction (Gagg) and one with gas (Lacanche.) I much prefer the induction. It is just as powerful and easy to regulate as gas and stays perfectly clean with a smile wipe of a paper towel and some all purpose cleaning spray. Plllog, an incredible cook who posts on the Cooking forum and used to post here in Kitchens a lot, has induction and gas dominos from Gagg as well and she says the only thing she uses the gas for is charring peppers to peel them.

So for me, there are no downsides to induction.

I went to the appliance store today and loved the Miele induction cooktop and the Miele ovens. I may switch from the Subzero refrigerator for either the Miele or Gagg. Thanks so much!!

My sister put in side by side induction and gas and she has never once used the gas other than trying it out at first. Just sayin'.

You need to read the specifications of the exact model of cooktop and oven that you are considering to see if they will work together. Just going by brand is not sufficient. I first had a gagg induction over a wolf oven and had to draw out all the clearances by hand on graph paper to be sure it would work. When the gagg died, I was very fortunate that the new Bosch worked in the same location - the older Bosch induction that was initially available when I put in the gagg might not have.

I'd never buy a wolf cooktop! they make cheap plastic knobs that they don't guarantee and their customer service ignores you! replacement knobs are $200. insane---NOT a high end product.
