need ideas for furniture placement for 15'x15' LR
Comments (10)Hi Samantha! This looks like a very nice home. Congratulations! Does this sit on a basement, or is there more here that we can't see? What's the total sq. ft.? 15x15 is a nice sized LR. I'm terrible at reading floor plans, so please tell me if I'm understanding you correctly. The TV is going on the wall that backs up to the bathroom and foyer. Are you getting the optional windows on either side of the fireplace? Then, as I understand it, you want the sectional to be in front of the windows that overlook the courtyard, with the shorter section extending out between the dining room and kitchen areas. Is that correct? One thing to be aware of is how much room you will need when the reclining parts are fully reclined. On the long section in front of the window, will there be anything to the right of it, like a floor lamp or end table? A coffee table in front of either section? An end table next to the shorter section? Besides the accent chair and possible aforementioned tables/lamps, will there be any other furniture in the LR? What is the main purpose of the sectional sofa? TV viewing? Conversation area? How many people are you hoping to seat in each section? I think the main concern would be to leave ample room behind the short end between the sofa fully reclined and the kitchen/dining area. If you have people over to watch a football game, for example, you'd likely be going back and forth with food and drink, and if you have to "squeeze by" every time, that will get old really fast. A secondary concern, from a design standpoint, would be to ensure the sofa isn't so huge that it completely dominates the room, stealing the focus from the lovely fireplace and the views out the windows. I think if you can answer those questions it will be easier for you to decide upon the best size for the sectional. I hope this helps! :-)...See MoreFurniture arrangement in a 15'8" x 25'10" Living and Dining room
Comments (3)The room is 15’8” wide and you need to be able to pull back dining chairs about 3’ all round for unobstructed mobility. So, If you subtract 6’ from 15’8” you are left with 9’8”….long way around saying “yes” a 9’ table would fit. To what are the sliders going? Yard, deck? And what is that 3056 space on the dining wall? In rooms short of wall space, I think two sliders may be a bad choice. Depending on what your answer is to the 3056 space, I would put the slider there; and two windows where you have the sliders. But that is just my opinion and I never put the t v in the living room. Back to your furniture arrangement and your plan, would this work? Dining area has one slider; sofa area has the other slider with sofa back to dining area, facing the wall on which you want the t v. Aslo consider a curved sofa, instead of the typical three seater. This sofa is from Wayfair. I think the ottomans come with it. You could use the ottomans with the corner chairs you want. Lots of seating for a smaller area….. sorry…my mistake the ottomans are not included…why do they show them, then, in the photo? Grrrrrrr...See MoreNeed help with 15 x 11 Living Room Layout!
Comments (33)Here is a layout for some of your pieces. The trick for gallery layouts is to keep the bottom of the "layout" all the same level. The upper edge can be variable but balanced. So, I put the big letter "D" on the left (set this out on the floor and look at it to see if it will work in the space), then bottom of the "landscape/cabin?" picture in the bottom middle, and on the right the window with the bottom of it level with the D and the landscape. All those about 6" above the top of the sofa. Then above the landscape, the multi-picture collage with the black framing, and above that the white background Cross? plaque. The other items look a bit more personal and they could go in the master bedroom nicely. The group should be fairly close together kind of like I have shown them. Lay them out on the floor and then you can hang them accordingly. With the open "D" on the left, I think it will kind of make the switches look like they are kind of part of the grouping, or the grouping will distract the eye from them. Notice detail on the sofa! lol...See MoreHelp with new furniture & placement for living room and family
Comments (10)Well we have bought the craftsman and there are lots we like about it but i mainly want to create a foyer so it doesn’t walk straight in to living room. it would only let me load 3 images. The wall to take down or half with some craftsman type pillars is to the right of the front door or left from the fireplace right by the front door on first image....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
