Comments (2)I would post this on the "entertaining forum" This forum isn't used much & mostly showing problem with fence or pump or something. Or people trying to sell something for your yard. Party ideas are over at "entertainment forum" They are folks that do have parties. If that doesn't work you might try Holidays forum as it is very active & many of them have parties so might be able to help you out....See MoreHelp me with Party Ideas for Senior Citizen's B'day party
Comments (4)When my mother turned 70, we gave her a surprise party and wrote and performed a little musical of her life. She definitely loved that! But our family is into stuff like that. Yours may be more into art, writing, etc. For my 50th birthday, my husband contacted everyone he could think of and asked them to contribute a little anecdote for an album. He put photos in the back. I adore it. I recently did a "this is your life" slide show for a party honoring someone. Her family gave me photos. But in addition to the real photos from her life, we put in lots of downloaded photos with her face photoshopped in (always the same photo of her face, and always just a little too large). For example, when the narration was about her meeting and marrying her husband, there were a few of the two of them together, and then her with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Homer Simpson, King Kong ... etc. It was really funny to think of things; she is a VERY refined and elegant lady, and we had her getting a tattoo, pole dancing, in a motorcycle gang, on a Tabloid cover, in the Sopranos -- like that. What made it funny was that we kept the narration perfectly straight and played very formal music behind it. It was very well received, and the guest of honor loved it. Do you think your mom might like something like one of these ideas? I, too, think I would prefer something like that to making the guests play games. I think it is so nice of you to make a party for your mother. You don't need to "program" every minute with games, though -- your mom's friends will enjoy socializing with each other....See Morecompany holiday party ideas - need ideas
Comments (6)I too agree on the 'game' during an adult party-with the exception of one quick one that has always create laughter in lg parties I've done. Simply, you have each table of seated people split in to 2 teams (the one, two manner), then have all of the 'ones' stand together in a circle on the dance floor. Ditto with the two team. Direct them to remove their shoes & throw them into the center of their circle. Once done-you or the emcee-step into the circle & mixes them all up in a pile. On the count of 3..everyone must scramble to find their shoes, put them on & the 1st team who completes the race...wins. I also had a caricature artist on hand who worked for a minimal fee for those who wanted one done. Something else I did was set up an area for a photographer to take pics of couples, or buddies at the party. It could be a well set, candle lit table for two-toasting w/champagne glasss-or something funny-like the 'boss's desk with a swivel chair and a side chair-posing the couple with the man sitting in the swivel chair, feet upon the desk & the gal taking a memo. A placard on the desk in big print says:"IT's MY TURN"! or something funny! Pics could be passed out later in the evening as souvineers....See MoreTeen Party for 35
Comments (22)Party was a HUGH success! Thank you for asking and for all the input. Food wise - I probably asserted myself when Pizza would have been fine - though I did get lots of âÂÂThank-yousâ from the kids. As mentioned, Band Kids are really a great bunch and very polite too. I was a tad worried with 40 boys & girls, but they were all well behaved. I made 96 of the mini corn dog muffins and should have made 3 times that! These are super easy to make and the kids loved them. The Pizza Rolls also vanished and I should have had more of them too. The hot wings went well (about 8 lbs), but not the teriyaki (about 4 lbs) - I would have expected the opposite. The fruit tray was demolished, but not the veggie tray. The Ham sandwiches didn't go well either, which surprised me. They liked the hot dogs, but I think they liked cooking them over the fire pit outside. :-) The pasta salad was well received too. But the hit of the party was the chocolate fountain - I think as much for the novelty as the yummy dippers. Soda: Dr Pepper was the favorite by far. I did have plenty of coke, sprite, water and lemonade too. Thanks again everyone - I really appreciated all the help. :-) Jeri...See Moredaisychain Zn3b
