I totally agree that brunch is the easiest meal to host--it's the only type of event I host anymore. And you don't need to cook anything to provide a tasty and charming meal since all you have to do is take the easiest to buy/heat/prepare/unwrap items from either breakfast or lunch, throw them on a table with lovely flowers, silverware, and plates, and coffee, juice, tea, and Pellegrino and --voila gorgeous brunch. I usually get baby bagels, cream cheese, and salmon...cheeses and breads, scones, muffins, quiches from whole foods to heat and serve, berries/fruit, tiny yogurts from trader joes... Just tasty treats and people love it! I also can buy most of it from trader joes so it's not the most expensive meal, either. People seem to find it easy to attend my brunches too possibly since the time is between other commitments.
I realize it's a bit off topic but really wanted to share yes brunch IS the easiest meal to host and people love it!
