Is the 005 worth the added cost? Not what dealer wants to charge. I can say his cost for the upgrade is inconsequential. The upgrade charge he wants to pass along to you is absurd. What about the lineset? Is existing the correct size? Not a detail to disregard or overlook. IMO...See MoreCarrier Greenspeed Heat Pump Purchase Questionss
Comments (13)Careful careful Jonesy - youâÂÂre dealing with contractors that are NOT at the top of theyâÂÂre game! All their load calculations are being done to a standard - the American standard, which is the WRONG standard for Canada where you live. The correct and latest version of the standard for Canada is the âÂÂCSA F280-12âÂÂ. However any CSA F280, such as the âÂÂCSA F280-M90â might suffice. If youâÂÂre receiving government grants or rebates, provincial or federal, dependent on âÂÂproperâ load calculations, your application âÂÂmightâ be âÂÂDeniedâÂÂ, depending on who does the review, if the methodology you mentioned is used, as it does NOT conform to Canadian standards. Just some friendly advice⦠Good luck with finding someone that actually does it right - most people are CLUELESS and full of excuses! Caveat Emptor! Comments (40)Ok, I am sorry for bugging yall again... but I do appreciate you all helping me. I have been thinking. How does this sound, and tell me please if I need something else? I am going to ask for the Infinity Gas furnace- and matching control (thermostat?) as I said, I really don't even know what to ask for but in doing research and carrier left me a brochure I was reading through it, and see some nice reviews about it. For now I am not concerned about a heat pump, or even an air conditioner. However, is there a such thing as an air conditioner that matches the infinity gas furnace? Please, I know yall base answers on best product for least amount of $, however, I have only one shot to get the funds for this furnace. and I want the best. the best because I know it will last me a long time. I do not care about bells and whistles, No. I just want the best. and as before, tere will have to be new ducts, vents, and anything else that goes with a new system. Is one stage better than 2 stage? what is variable speed? what is a box filter? what is a condensing fan? please, please help me figure this one out, so at least I will know some of what I am asking for and not just accepting what they are telling me? and what seer? of furnace should I ask for or need? thank you in advance. I am sorry for being a bugger....See MoreCarrier Greenspeed Heat Pump with Generalaire Humidifer Issue
Comments (0)Got a 4 ton Carrier Heat Pump with fan coil installed this winter. Also at same time, contractor installed a Generalaire model 1099 whole house bypass humidifier. It is run by the Carrier Wifi thermostat. So far the humidifier isn't keeping the house humid enough. We are getting anywhere between 27 to 32% humidity. House is 2800 sq ft, and bypass humidifier is sized for a 3000 sq ft house and is 19.2 US gallons output. Humidifier has water running in it, appears to be operating as per specs is turned on and the Carrier Wifi thermostat humidity required level is set to 40% humidity but usually showing current status as 28 to 31% humidity.. The continuous fan is set to auto and is turned on when the system calls for humidity. Noticed that sometimes the fan does not come on automatically as it is supposed to when the heat strips are involved, but seems to work pretty consistently when the heat pump is working and heat strips locked out. Also wondering if something is not working with the Carrier Wifi thermostat as that is what determines the humidity need. Is it possible that there is something in the greenspeed heat pump/fan coil operation that isn't providing enough pressure to run the humidity thru the ductwork? Contractor has been out twice and is stumped. Humidifier Unit has been changed out just in case but same results....See Moresktn77a
