Comments (10)I bought some more paint and have a few more options - yes, I am indecisive :) Option 1 is "Brown Teepee" by Behr. It is a caramel-ish brown. I like it, but my husband is afraid it might be too flesh toned and warm for the adjacent bedroom, which is a cool grey-ish blue. Option 2 is called "Stony Mountain". It's a very light greenish-beige. Brown Teepee is on the left; Stony Mtn on right. Opinions are appreciated! Many thanks for your input :) Here's the other wall; Brown Teepee on right, Stony Mtn to left above the towel rack....See MoreHelp picking flooring color and paint color
Comments (8)Wow, the lighting is so different in those photos, I had to scroll back and forth just to see if that's the same room! I love your choices, especially the pale blue backsplash tile. I love lighter colors (though your island is really pretty). I would go with a really blonde-looking floor, though obviously there are many directions you could go. I think you probably want to be done and over with anything with that red tone. So, I like a pale golden floor, probably an oil wax finish to get a really matte look. I can't possibly tell in those tiny thumbnail photos what the tones of the floor will be--you're going to need to order a box of what you like and lay it out in your room before you decide. It's a small cost but worth it to be certain....See MoreHelp me pick a kitchen paint color: Want color and warmth!
Comments (26)Hi Everyone! Well my kitchen is done! And we went with BM White Dove! I love it! I pulled away from the darker creams and I’m glad I did. White Dove is still warm but I think it has a fresh, modern feel. In certain northern light it can read blue-gray but I actually love that - even though that’s what I feared. My art pops on it and everything feels more crisp. Surprisingly, I don’t miss the yellow-gold at all. I do have to tell you about a crazy moment: I first chose SW Creamy. The painter put one coat on and I freaked out. It read light country yellow! I HATED it! Luckily, my painter was very gracious about running to the store and buying new paint. He had recommended White Dove all along and he was right. Now I’m working on swapping out the lights for something more contemporary. Amazing how a coat of paint can change the whole feel! Thanks for all your advice!...See MorePaint Color Frustrated/Overload
Comments (26)It seems to me your most problematic paint choice is Harmonic Tan, which you say is reading as an olive green on the walls of your house. I don’t think any of the furnishings calidesign has shown in the pictures need a neutral wall. Appears to me they’d look nice with your paint choices, but you are the one standing in your house looking across the spaces and not feeling satisfied. Hard to know what isn’t working for you It does occur to me that you might prefer furnishings without a lot of decorative design on them, and most furniture sold does have a lot of design: wood carving, floral fabric, decorative rugs, lamps with a lot of shape and trimmings. So maybe you haven’t got a problem with the color on the walls but with the busy-ness of your furniture in your newly colored rooms. If you can experiment that way —- change the chairs in the room or put a sheet over a floral rug or upholstery to see if you like it better, that might tell you something....See MoreRelated Professionals
