Should I repot this Psychopsis now?

I picked this plant about a week ago at a commercial orchid grower/nursery. Typical of so many of these places, the plant is tightly packed in sphagnum. I'm sure that works fine in their facilities with evaporative coolers galore and mega fans but it won't work in my shadehouse with our 80-90% a good part of the year even with the good ventilation I provide.

So I want to repot it in orchiata and some spag. But as you can see it has a spike (apparently the tip had been broken before I bought it). The new growing tip was almost invisible when I bought the plant and now is about 1/2". The plant also has a few very small new roots. So it seems happy enough for now.

I read some older posts in the Orchid forum that said to go ahead and repot even while the plant was blooming given the plant's habit to keep blooming on the same spike for long periods of time. Is this the best recommendation in this instance?
