The magnolia was the most worthwhile addition, as it breaks up the front of the house (in the view shown). Truth be told, there are a dozen things I would change, starting with the balls marching up to the one undersized window right in the middle, and emphasizing it. Anyway, if you like daylilies try to get some evergreen ones like garden centers get from Monrovia nursery as these may be more tidy of leaf than the ones that die down each fall. Your existing garden is so tidy I think you might be bothered by the sloppiness of those in the latter category. Otherwise, maybe get more of the successful red rose and plant those where the existing one is. Make your own from fall cuttings of the specimen you have already if you have to. The creeping junipers look like they have picked up that blight they get and may now go on to die out, giving you a new space for a big sweep of daylilies or some other change. You might want to bring in a designer or consultant to review the existing plantings and tell you how you can make the garden more like what you want. And since, as is often the case the front of the house is not symmetric you should think about discontinuing the matching, evenly spaced pairs of trees and formalizing maintenance shearing of the trees and shrubs. Formal shearing and symmetric balance don't go with asymmetric architecture of your house.

Wow- you really are the best. Thank you. You have helped me so much. I am going to the paint store to sample golden tan. And I took the bold step (for me) of asking the painter to take on other work for a week or so until I am certain. I think that alone will make it easier for me to make a choice without the stress of having to do it so quickly. I will let you know what we go with!

Well, if I were you, I would paint the coffee table the same as the end table and bring in some pillows that have the color of both the sofa and tables. I think some of those laminates are mimicing level one granites; many have commented that level one granites were actually less expensive than the laminate estimates they got...not sure if that included installation costs. Do you live in an area where designers are readily available? Not all of us do....I found a tile store designer with A great “eye” who I hired to advise me on paint colors and other design input I wanted. I would consider painted cabs with your flooring choice since I am having a hard time thinking of a stain color and wood that would compliment. A darker, greyed-brown might work but the wood would have to be carefully chosen to avoid orangish/reddish tones.
