Neutral Rug - No Sisal or Jute
Comments (25)LOL! I never thought of greek key as 80s.. but it is definitely not an era I'd like to channel through my decor! Thanks for the recommends.. I've never heard of Natural Home Rugs but I saw a few in there I like for other spaces in my home. Boop.. oh there are plenty of rugs I like on Horchow-- but of course they arent the ones in my price range. You've shared some gorgeous rugs but a few are way too contemporary for my style and I am just not loving the sweater weaves. I am going to check out some broadloom options and a few local stores. Surely I'll find something. I don't think my requirements are all that unusual....See MoreDo ya'll like Jute rugs
Comments (14)We have a jute, sisal or seagrass rug in the sunroom. I can never remember which one it is. I have to say, we really like it. My only complaint is that it is not that comfortable to stand on bare foot for any length of time. Ours is several years old and we have had no problems with it. It is only the two of us and one small *pup* but she basically ignores rugs. LOL Our sunroom gets a good bit of use and as we have a patio off that room, we are frequently in and out. So far, our rug doesn't look dirty. We vacuum often but to the best of my knowledge, nothings ever been spilled or dripped on it, so no stains. I honestly don't know how it hold up to something like that. I can say that it's had wet feet across it, but you'd never know it. I do think that much of the dirt filters down through the rug and you do need to take it up occasionally (which can be a bit of a bother since ours covers much of the floor in the room) and vacuum/mop underneath. It's worked great for us in the location we have it in and still looks new. tina...See MoreJute or sisal rug with cats
Comments (9)I had one. Once. For about five minutes before one of the cats upchucked on it and no mater what I tried it would not come clean. All our area rugs are now woven polypropylene. They hose clean and not even red wine stains them. I know this because my hubby clipped the bottom of a wine glass on the edge of the tall table I had just placed at the side of his recliner and it spilled all over our brand new rug. Luckily I had been working on a piece of furniture in the sunroom and tucked the shower curtain liner under the rug, ran tap water over the stain and watched it disappear....See MoreSearching for a sisal/jute look-alike that's soft and rugged
Comments (12)Thank you all for the suggestions. Gosh, I didn't realize what bargains we've found for the rest of the rugs in our home. These sites are putting me into sticker shock, even with their good prices and special sales. We rearranged our living room tonight (so happy with the new layout!) and now I'm convinced we need an even bigger rug. I came across a "typical family room" bound remnant locally that's just a 12' x 12' creamy tan rug with white, gold and dark brown flecks for $200. The carpet is good quality and pretty soft. The size is just about perfect. It's not a WOW rug, but, it would be versatile for changing up throws and pillows. Should I just cave and give up the hunt?...See MoreJamie Ludwig
