Help! can’t figure out paint sheen

For this wall I want to paint it all white including trim. Not sure if this is considered wainscoting but what sheen should I use for the wall and for the molding trim ?? Thanks!!

Eggshell finish. It's got a very low sheen but is easy to wipe down with a damp cloth and has a velvety finish. Check with your local paint store and they can show you the difference.

if its wallboard use eggshell. if its wood use semi gloss. semi gloss would be preferred but it never looks right on wallboard... i've tried....

You need a scaffold board. FOr this to work, you have to have rungs of your ladders at the same height, and you lay 2x12 boards across so that you can reach what you need. Clamp the boards to the ladder for safety. To get to some of the areas, you can use your pony wall as support for one end of the scaffolding and the ladder for the other end, coming out perpendicular to the counter. You'll have to move it a lot more, but you should be able to reach most of the areas that way.

the right one on the fireplace. the left one looks a little cool. maybe try Pale Oak? pale oak and white dove or, try some of these. I used Light Pewter in my kitchen. it's a nice, soft, warm gray. you can see it's less 'taupe' than revere pewter. the other one I like is Smoke Embers. beautiful shade

Roopa if you bought that oriental rug with the bright red and the aqua background, I would go with a pale aqua or pale blue wall. Off white, pale yellow or cream works very well too. It's the daytime light with all the beautiful windows you have to feel airy during the day and a pleasing wall color to look at night and enjoy, not overpowering!

That almost looks like thinned a bit drywall mud put on with a roller. A friend did that to an upstairs bedroom one time. It looked pretty close to your picture.

I agree with ninngret. Eggshell on the walls and ceilings and semi gloss on all the trim and doors.

Agree. Eggshell walls. Higher sheen on trim - satin or semi whichever floats your boat.
