Help Out: Art and Design for Japan
Home Design That Benefits Relief Efforts
The tragedy that struck Japan has been in our hearts this week, and with all the reports and images of destruction it can feel overwhelming to figure out how to help. If you're looking for a way to give, here are a few pieces from artists and designers that send all or some proceeds to the relief efforts. We've also included links to several aid organizations should you prefer to donate directly.
Japan Relief Poster
All proceeds from this great graphic print go to the Red Cross relief efforts in Japan. You can give $25, $50 or more to help a good cause and get an awesome piece of art in return. It's a win–win.
Sankaku Lavender Sachet (Set of 6)
These little sachets are sweet for several reasons: One, the lavender scent smells marvelous and freshens any area of the house. And two, all proceeds go to Japan's earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.
Shinjuku, 6:43 by Joseph O. Holmes
Art print purveyor 20x200 has come up with several special edition prints in response to the disaster, with all proceeds benefiting Japan Society's Earthquake Relief Fund. Joseph O. Holmes' photo of the twilight hour feels ethereal and quiet — quite a contrast to how the bustling neighborhood of Shinjuku is usually portrayed.
Imperial Palace Gardens with Wall, Tokyo by Emily Shur
Another edition from 20x200 benefiting Japan Society's Earthquake Relief Fund. In this image, photographer Emily Shur captures a small glimpse of the beautifully manicured gardens surrounding Japan's Imperial Palace.
Now through March 24th, Heath Ceramics will donate 25 percent of online sales to Architecture for Humanity's relief efforts in Japan.

Classic Teapot
Through the end of the month, San Francisco–based home and design store Rare Device is donating 10 percent of sales from select Japanese–made products to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief effort. This sweet little teapot is just one of the available items for purchase.
