How much space (width) for stacked Samsungs?
Comments (1)They make recessed dryer hookup boxes that should help with your problem of alignment with the rigid outside vent and dryer. Google, dryer hookup boxes and you should see what I am talking about. They actually fit back between the studs. As far as fitting, the only recommendation is to read the specs and measure. If there are no specs with your washer/dryer try the Samsung site, or even call customer service....See MoreStacking washer and dryers of different makes
Comments (24)I was able to stack non-compatible pairs or non-stackable pairs models of Samsung Washer and Dryer. The washer broke and we brought a new Samsung Washer WF42H5000. Older Samsung dryer model is DV206AES/XAC. As per Samsung the new washer WF42H5000 was stackable only to a relatively new dryer model DV42H5000EW/AC. But we were not happy to buy a new dryer as old dryer was working good. This is what we did: 1. New Samsung Washer WF42H5000 will be at the surface. Stacked the old dryer on top of it. 2. Used old (which was already existing in the previous set-up) stacking kit. I don't know its name. 3. The handy man bored/drilled new slots in the behind of the washer so that the steel bracket from dryer correctly fitted to the new washer slots. That's it, we were done. 4. The washer runs without any problem, no vibration. It runs normal. 5. The main problem which we foresaw was how the steel brackets will come into correct slot but that was achieved by the handy man as he bored/drilled suitable slots to the new washer to fit the steel brackets from dryer. Please make sure that both washer and dryer are of same width, in most cases it will be same, say 27 inches....See MoreNon-matching wall ovens: to stack or not to stack
Comments (8)I have both of these ovens, though at opposite ends of the kitchen. I think they'll look fine for kitchen purposes, stacked, but it will be a functional look, rather than a particularly designed one, which means that it won't be the greatest in the position of interest. Not bad, but like a car with the hood up, showing the works. Suggestion--rather than "filler" put a shallow drawer between for the Advantium trays. That's something I learned from people before me here to make the Advantium more useful and convenient, even without the threat of filler. You could face the drawer with stainless to tie the ovens together, or do something decorative with it, or match it to the cabinetry. Another suggestion: Since you have the trim next to the ovens, maybe you could add some kind of doors or screens that will hide the ovens when they're not in use. Both ovens are pretty short, and, especially since you're tall, can be mounted higher than others. If you put them side by side in the pantry area they'd be conveniently located, and if you have them at chest height, which is good for tending them and pulling things out, you'll preserve a lot of your prime pantry storage. You'd lose the division line between the top and bottom cabinets matching the counter line, but it would work nicely. Also, you might see if you can change out your 30" combi-steam for the 24" one, if it's to be plumbed. They have exactly the same guts and cavity size. The 30" one is only that width to match the single, as in the picture (though I think only the 30" has the tank option). A really good option, however, to preserve your pantry design, would be to just say forget it, it's a kitchen, and let it look the way it's going to look to make it function well for you....See MoreKnob pull decision for stacked cabinets. Input please?
Comments (14)Thank you, rebunky, for the ahturf mention! They have a bit better pricing than anywhere else I'd found these items. I wonder if it is the 160mm pull that you used for the larger pulls. Those are the ones I'd picked out, as they are a lot larger than the 96 but still quite inexpensive relative to the huge bump in price for the even larger ones. That's what I'm leaning towards doing -- 96s for most, and 160s (just one) for the larger (30+) drawers . . . and now those Amerock glass ones for the upper stacked, and possibly for some of the dining room cabinetry. The cabinetry is being delivered Monday morning, so once I see it in person in the space, I guess I can make some final choices. I've got to do some counting and ordering! Thanks!...See MoreJ G
