Painted paneling in closets - Yay or Nay?
Comments (11)Yes, I was concerned about the buyer popping their head in the closet and thinking, "eew, cheap paneling." The master bed closets will have a nice and very functional organizer for the two 5'x10' closets. They will be filled with our stuff, so I don't think the buyer would see enough of the walls to be concerned (if paneling was a turn off). The upstairs "kid's" bedrooms are those standard sized closets that aren't walk-in, with the sliding doors. We don't have kids and I kept them empty so unless I fill them for the sale, the buyer will get full view of the painted paneling. I'm glad the vote is going in the paint direction because I sure would like to limit what I have to pay others to do!...See MoreYay or nay?...
Comments (18)I think the arches could be used with the mirror over your couch BUT I am not fond of the color...sort of shabby chic. I think I would paint them black or bronze because it looks like that is what you have in your room. If you like the clock over your mantle, it is fine but please declutter..too many little things to look at....See MoreYay or nay? Wallpaper question
Comments (8)I'll post when I get the samples. I would of course prefer a real brick wall or even the z brick like Annie suggested, but you never know, they make such great things this day and it would certainly be less of a commitment. I remember my parents had on wall done in a mural in the 70's and the paper was shiny. I hope and doubt this is anything like that, but we will see....See MoreStaining vintage 5-panel interior doors black? Yay or nay?
Comments (12)@Woody Vaughan or Shaun Fogarty the grain is absolutely beautiful. So stain seems like the way to go. I've been able to get everything except the tiny crevices totally stripped of shellac. But the little details around the panels are maybe 1/16 of an inch and I just can't quite get it all out. Do you think staining over the shellac in those areas is a horrible idea or will it just look darker/deeper?...See Moreapple_pie_order
