Yay or Nay on paint color.
Comments (11)I think this may have posted 2x... this was the additional info I added to the other post... Thank you for all the feedback. Here is a picture of the front of the house. This is also the original color as we have only painted the back. The roof is currently a light gray, but we are going to change it to a charcoal gray. We are going to paint the front door white. The front will look more colorful as we plant a lot of colorful flowers in the front. The pavers on the driveway and sidewalk are a gray color. They are different than the red brick around the pool. The neighbors homes are grays, yellow, beige, and brown. The trim and garage door will remain white and the body of the house will be copen blue....See MoreWhite grout for shower floor- yay or nay?
Comments (24)@ci_lantro I agree, the blue grout is not the right color blue for the tile. Re: floor tile, the floor in the picture in the unfinished concrete floor, ha! However, I am using Basic Cement Silver Porcelain Tile (Tile Bar) which is the same thing as Ivy Hill Essential Cement Silver Tile Porcelain (Home Depot) to tile the floor, and it looks very similar to concrete. The floor tile is actually the backing for the samples, so you can see that it is a silvery cement looking tile....See MoreCarrara Marble Island and White Quartz Perimeter - Yay or Nay?
Comments (19)acm, I love your cabinets and what you've done to complement them - it looks beautiful! Thanks for the inspirational photos! I'm on board with Sally T. - there's something so special about marble - I say go for it! The Calacatta Miele was quoted for $150 per sqft., but the White Carrara is $85 per sqft. Arctic White Quartz is $75 per sqft, and the Calacatta Gold was quoted at $315 per sqft (!) Of note, I live in a metropolitan area, so it could be a factor in pricing. Theresa, I'm conceding to the guidance that I need to pick one or the other, and as Patricia pointed out, there's marble throughout Italy (and Europe), and it's managed to survive centuries ... I know there's such a strong response for marble being a bad idea, but it doesn't add up for me - I'm definitely leaning in the direction of going with the marble for all of it. Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback!...See More42” bathroom yay or nay.
Comments (13)We did this two years ago in the same situation. It is great! :) Our shower is the same size and feels plenty big. Wall-hung toilets can help with the clearance--our city requires 24" clear. What is on the other sides of the long wall? I might also explore poaching or rebalancing space depending on what's there and whether those walls are load-bearing. If you post a floor plan, people may have suggestions....See MoreKanga
