Small living room huge dilemma
Hey guys,
I have a dilemma regarding several things about the design of the small living room from the pictures.
Basically, I have trouble picking my mind about a coffee table that would sit in front of the sofa. The best I could think of was a dark wood (contrast) round (matching the sofa pillows) coffee table. I am also confused what drapes would go along with the room. I'm also contemplating the idea of a rug in the space. Should the rug be dirty white/very light grey as the shade of the sofa pillow or should it aim to strike a contrast?
As you can see it is very white, very bright and very tight. The garden table and chairs would ultimately go on the balcony. I would like to put a tv stand next to the wall-mounted heater and I am thinking white wood (surprise, surprise) so as not to take the focal point of a (potentially) dark wood coffee table in the middle of the space.
I would really appreciate any input. Thank you guys!

Comments (1)There are reasons why most people center the couch, but most people also prefer sitting on a good one. :) I guess I'd try putting the couch where the armchair is now (but extending into the corner), the two recliners where the couch is, and the armchair where the chair/lamp combo is on the right of the photo. I think that the seating would still work for conversation, but you would have the recliners facing the TV (and, honestly, the couch facing the view!). The main drawback would be having to walk around the end of the couch, but I don't think it would be a big deal once you got used to it -- be sure to put some light in the corner though. Comments (14)Create a pattern of each of them, in paper close to the green color, then use painters tape to attach the paper in different patterns to see what might work. Here are some ways to try: I like the 1st one with the shelf under it, which might work well with your wall. I think there's room for a coffee table, so long as the console under the tv is narrow - only 10-12 inches deep. You'll need the coffee table for a place to set drinks, etc. Something on wheels would be good, or maybe something like one of these (above)
I think there might be room for a small-scale occasional chair as well - placed where outside furniture is currently. It looks like there may be patio umbrella - which could either bounce light into the space, or shade the interior to some degree. For drapes, I would think sheer white hung wall to wall would do the job.
What does look tight to is the counter stool(s). Could you post a photo of that area?
It looks like you have quite high ceilings - it's a very nice space, although small!
